Cuisinart CDF-100P1 Questions and Answers

#1 What kind of plug does this have? Is it magnetic?

It is magnetic but it comes out very easily. For this and other
reasons, buy something else!

#2 Is it a separate compartment for the oil to drain to?

Yes there is a pan that fits into the outer housing. You have to
lift the heating element off the backside and lift the pan out to
change the oil.

#3 Does store bought corn dogs fit in this fryer?

They should but you may have to remove the stick as this is a
very small fryer. It's a great size for frying for 1 or 2 people.
Doesn't use much oil and cleans easily. I can put 4 pieces of
battered cod in it at one time.

#4 Nice little deep fryer but with one issue. The temperature
knob seems extra loose (wigely) Has anyone else
experienced this issue ???

No, I have not experienced any problems with the knob.

#5 How do you clean it after use?

I pour the oil back into its original container for later use, or
throw it away I've used it 5-6 times or so. Wash the electric
heating element and control panel by hand. You can wash
the remaining items in the dishwasher if they fit, or wash
them by hand if you prefer.

#6 Can i use crisco oil. the kind that hardens when it's not hot?
and if so, how many times should i use it before i change
the oil/lard?

I have no idea because I use peanut oil for my cooking and the
fryer requires a lot more than a gallon to cook well. However,
the peanut oil can be used over and over a lot. It is not really
good for small batches because of the oil required but great on
medium and larger tasks.

#7 My doesn’t heat since the first time. the lights is always green
and the oil is cold. how can i do it? or it’s broken?

Do you have the heating rod laying in the oil. If not, that's your
problem.
