This microwave requires a 120 volts AC, 60 Hertz, 14.5 amps and 1.7 kilowatts. This product must be connected to a supply circuit of the proper voltage and frequency. The power supply cord and plug should be brought to a separate 15- to 20-ampere branch circuit single grounded outlet. The outlet box should be located in the cabinet above the microwave oven. The outlet box and supply circuit should be installed by a qualified electrician and conform to the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code.

If the microwave trips the house fuse or breaker: 1. Be certain the microwave is on its own dedicated circuit. 2. Reset the breaker or replace the household fuse and try the microwave one more time. 3. If the breaker trips off again, unplug the microwave and contact a GE Appliances technician by calling 1-800-432-2737.

why does ge microwave flash food after use, and why do I have to open the door to get the microwave to start after each use.

This is normal for this model microwave. The microwave will flash "food" to notify the user that the microwave is ready for use. We apologize about any inconvenience this may cause.
