Hi, I recently purchased this vacuum as a replacement for another similar Hoover vacuum (which was over 15 years old!). On the original vacuum, when I use the extender rod w/w/o attachments, there was a cover that covered the hose port. This vacuum does not have a cover, and when I use it, dust and dirt (and dog hair) comes flying out. Is this defective? Is something missing? This is the first time I’m using it and I still have the box and wrappings. Anything you can tell me to help me with this issue would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your assistance!
