Make sure the dishwasher door is closed tightly and is latched correctly. You can also try resetting your home's fuse or circuit breaker for the dishwasher. If your dishwasher is controlled by a wall switch, make sure the power is turned on. If the problem persists, please contact GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance.

Make sure the dishwasher door is latched tightly. Open the door and then close it again firmly. Also, if the dishwasher is controlled by a wall switch, make sure the power is turned on. Wall switches are required in some areas, so check around the kitchen counter or in the cabinet under the sink for a switch you do not normally use. I removed the filter of an empty dishwasher and cleaned it. I noticed when I remove the filter that there is still water standing in the bottom where the filter was with gunkiness in it. Can I run a cycle of the empty dishwasher without putting the filter back on to clear out what is in that bottom section where the filter was?
