    When I press the HEAT button for starting my Amana unit it shows a message ‘d6’ on the digital display before reverting back to the selected temperature. Is this a troubleshooting message?

    Error code D6 is displayed only if the gas pressure to the furnace has not been set correctly. This can be fixed with the following steps: disconnect power from the furnace and wait at least one minute before returning power to it, manually set gas pressure to 14″ or less, then wait five minutes and then press the reset button on the control panel.
