  • The house fuse was tripped and the microwave stopped working. I tripped the switch, unplugged and replugged the microwave in. The lights and turntable and everything else works but it will not heat. Does the microwave have a fuse in it that may need replaced?

If the microwave runs but is not heating, it could be one of many components. Make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used. Check to ensure the is door closed firmly. Close it firmly, but do not slam. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms. For safety reasons, you should not repair the microwave yourself due to an internal high-voltage capacitor (can hold a high-voltage charge even after it has been unplugged). Special equipment is generally needed to make a diagnosis.

If the above suggestions do not solve the problem and the microwave still won't heat, please contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737.
