Overview

The Apple AirPods 4 are wireless Bluetooth earbuds featuring the H2 chip. This model includes Active Noise Cancellation, Adaptive Audio, Transparency mode, and Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking. The earbuds have a redesigned contour for comfort and stability, with a shorter stem and quick-press controls.

The Charging Case (USB-C) supports wireless charging via Qi-certified chargers, Apple Watch charger, or USB-C cable. It includes a built-in speaker for Find My proximity alerts.

Siri Integration

Say “Siri” or “Hey Siri” to play a song, make a call, or check your schedule. With Siri Interactions, you can respond to Siri by nodding your head yes or shaking your head no when Siri asks if you want to answer an incoming call, hear a text message, or manage notifications.

Battery Life

• With Active Noise Cancellation enabled: Up to 4 hours of listening time on a single charge; up to 20 hours using the case.
• Without ANC enabled: Up to 5 hours of listening time on a single charge; up to 30 hours using the case.
• Talk time: Up to 4.5 hours on a single charge; up to 20 hours using the case.
• Quick charge: 5 minutes in the case provides around 1 hour of listening time or around 45 minutes of talk time.

Controls

Force Sensor (Press and Hold)

• Press once: Play or pause media; answer a call or mute/unmute.
• Press twice: Skip forward; end a call.
• Press three times: Skip back.
• Press and hold: Activate Siri.

Voice Commands

• Say “Hey Siri” or “Siri” to play a song, make a call, get directions, etc.
• Nod your head yes or gently shake your head no for Siri Interactions (answer calls, hear messages, manage notifications).

Use Guide

Pairing with Your Device

1. Open the Charging Case with AirPods inside.
2. Bring the case near your iPhone or iPad.
3. Tap Connect on the screen.
4. Follow any on-screen instructions.

For other Bluetooth devices, put AirPods in pairing mode by pressing and holding the button on the back of the case until the status light flashes white.

Wearing AirPods

Insert each AirPod into your ear with the stem pointing downward. The earbuds are designed for a universal fit. Adjust as needed for comfort and stability.

Switching Between Noise Control Modes

Press and hold the force sensor on either AirPod to switch between Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode, and Adaptive Audio. You can also switch modes in Control Center on your connected device.

Using Siri

Say “Hey Siri” or “Siri” followed by your request. For Siri Interactions, simply nod or shake your head when prompted.

Charging

1. Place AirPods in the Charging Case.
2. Close the lid.
3. Charge the case using:
   • USB-C cable (sold separately)
   • Apple Watch charger
   • Qi-certified wireless charger

The status light on the front of the case shows the charging status.

Checking Battery Status

• Open the Charging Case near your paired iPhone or iPad to see the battery level on screen.
• Use the Batteries widget on your device.
• Ask Siri: “How is the battery on my AirPods?”

Find My Integration

Use the Find My app on your Apple device to locate your AirPods or Charging Case. The case has a built-in speaker that can play a sound to help you find it.
