Frigidaire FGBD2434PB Questions and Answers

#1 What are normal dishwasher operations sounds?

It is normal for you to hear the water filling in your dishwasher along with water circulating and the motor running. If you hear a knocking or banging sound, check to ensure you do not have dish, pot, pan, or utensil causing the spray arm to circulate improperly.

For models equipped with the fan-assisted Even Dry or Perfect Dry system, it's normal to hear the fan operate at various times during the cycles.

#2 How can I ensure the best drying results?

To ensure the best drying results, we recommend using a rinse aid (such as Cascade® Rinse Aids*), which helps with drying and cleaning performance.

These products help eliminate spots and residue. You can also try changing the setting on your dishwasher. You can do this at any time during the cycle.

Depending on your model, you can choose from the below settings:

The Heat Dry option, in combination with a rinse aid (such as Cascade® Rinse Aids), uses heat to enhance the drying performance, costing only pennies per cycle in extra energy.

Please note that it is normal for plastic products and items with concave surfaces to retain small amounts of water.

The Sahara Dry® cycle adds a forced air system to the Heat Dry option. It’s available on select models, and offers the most advanced drying action in the dishwasher industry. When used with a rinse aid, it offers our best drying performance.

The PowerPlus™ Dry cycle adds a forced air system to the Heat Dry option. Available on select models and works best when used with a rinse aid. The Air Dry option relies on air rather than heat, and may sometimes leave some dishes not completely dry at the end of the cycle.

If you choose this cycle, you may see water vapor coming from the vent as it runs. This is normal – it’s simply the result of moisture wicking away from your dishes.

#3 How do I adjust the upper rack of my dishwasher?

Since the adjustability of your racks may vary by model, we recommend that you first reference your Owner’s Manual.

However, here are some helpful tips depending on your dishwasher tub type:

For Plastic Tub Dishwashers -

To raise the upper rack, press the lever on the rack toward the center of the rack and pull straight up.

To lower the upper rack, press the lever and push down on the rack. Your Owner’s Manual may have a diagram for assistance.

For Stainless Tub Dishwashers -

The top rack height can be easily adjusted to accommodate loading taller dishes.

To raise the rack, lift up until both sides are at the same height and the rack will secure in place. Ensure the rack remains level from front to back with both sides at the same height.

To lower the rack, lift the rack slightly then push down and release.

#4 Can I adjust the rinse aid dosage used during a cycle on my dishwasher?

Some of our models have a dial that can be adjusted for the rinse aid dosage while others require you to use your control pad. Since our models may vary, we recommend referencing your Owner’s Manual to determine what is applicable to your dishwasher.

#5 How do I start my dishwasher?
