Cleaning the
condenser
There is no need for routine condenser
cleanings in normal home operating
environments. However, in environments
that may be particularly dusty or greasy,
the condenser should be cleaned (at least
annually) for efficient refrigerator operation.
To clean the condenser:
1. Turn off the power at the circuit breaker
or fuse box. Wait about 30 minutes for
the condenser area to cool.
2. Raise the grille panel at the top of the
refrigerator.
3. Use a soft bristle brush to loosen dust and
lint on the condenser fins. Use a vacuum
hose to remove soil.
4. Lower the grille panel.
5. Turn the power on at the fuse box or
circuit breaker.

Built-In Refrigerators
Preparing
for vacation
For long vacations or absences, remove food
and shut off power to the refrigerator at the
fuse box or circuit breaker. Clean the interior
(see Cleaning Inside). Leave doors open.
For shorter vacations, remove perishable foods
and leave controls at regular settings. However,
if the room temperature is expected to drop
below 60°F (16°C), follow the same instructions
as for long vacations.
Set the icemaker power switch to the O (off)
position and be sure to shut off the water
supply to the refrigerator.
Preparing
to move
Secure all loose items such as grille, shelves
and drawers by taping them securely in place
to prevent damage.
Be sure the refrigerator stays in an upright
position during moving.
