GE - General Electric GDF570SGF4CC Questions and Answers

#1 Is it normal for the control panel of this dishwasher to briefly light up when the door is opened? The dishwasher was just installed and each time we open the door, the most recent cycle lights go on.

This is normal. Generally speaking, electronic control models have light emitting diode (LED) indicators that take extremely small amounts of electricity. The lights go off after a period of time if the dishwasher is not started. Pushing any button or opening and closing the door will re-illuminate the lights. If the dishwasher was started, the lights will remain on until the dishwasher door is opened at the end of the cycle.
Thanks for checking.

#2 What is the length of a wash cycle for this model?

The times are maximum times on sensor models. They can be shortened
based on turbidity (soil load).

~ Normal Cycle No Options selected - 117 minutes
~ Normal Cycle Heated Dry - 174 minutes

The longest cycle is Heavy Wash with Heated Dry + Wash Temp Sani selected.
It will run 226 minutes.

#3 How do you install the mounting brackets on top if the trim piece is in place? Not sure about the trim pcs. Are they always used?

The mounting brackets attach to the top or sides of the dishwasher tub frame and the trim pieces attach to the dishwasher tub flange. The trim pieces should not interfere with the mounting brackets. The trim strips go around the dishwasher to hide the gap between the dishwasher and the cabinet.

I hope this helps!

#4 If using liquid soap how much should be used ?

If you choose to use detergent in liquid form, the amount of detergent you use will be determined by the hardness of your water, the temperature of your water, and the food soil load inside the dishwasher. You can contact your water company to get information about the hardness of the water in your area. Water hardness is measured in grains per gallon.

The detergent dispenser is located in the center of the dishwasher door. It has two compartments. The main wash compartment is found inside the detergent dispenser. The pre-wash compartment is on the lid of the detergent dispenser. Use the pre-wash compartment only when your water is extremely hard or when you have a heavy soiled load.

The amount of liquid detergent to use per the grains per gallon is as follows:

Number of Grains Per Gallon / Detergent Cups to Fill
Less than 4 / Fill cup to 1/3 full
4 to 8 / Fill cup to 2/3 full
8 to 12 / Fill cup completely full
Greater than 12 / Fill both main wash cup and pre-wash cup

Thanks for the question!
