It has a thermostat, so if the room temp goes above the set point it will lower it's output. However, there is no "precise temperature" setting, just numbers, so you may have to play with it to figure out where to set it to get the output you want.

If the timer is currently in the ON position, you can always turn the main toggle switches to off. But if the timer is in the OFF position, you can't override that with the toggle switches to turn the heater on. What you can do is simply turn the timer dial until the unit goes on. Of course, if you have set the timer to be synchronized with a clock, it will mess that up.

You need to have the timer on for the time periods you want the heater ON, regardless of temperature. If you want the anti freeze ON all the time, you need to set the timer on for 24 hours.
