Bosch SHX45P05UC/60 Questions and Answers

#1 How to clean your dishwasher exterior

Wipe down door seals with a damp, soft cloth.

To clean stainless steel, wash with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Always wipe in the direction of the steel’s grain. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners, chlorine-based cleaners, or abrasive sponges.

Condition the stainless steel with the Bosch Stainless Steel Conditioner. DO NOT apply the conditioner to logos, control markings, or black stainless steel.

#2 How to Clean your Dishwasher Filter

1. Remove the bottom rack completely and set aside.
2. The filter is located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub. Rotate the filter knob to the left and lift up to remove.
3. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water and a scrub brush.
4. Remove the filter from the screen and clean the pieces individually.
5. Dry the filter and place securely back in the dishwasher.

#3 How to adjust the upper rack on your Bosch dishwasher

1. Adjusting the upper rack height allows you to accomodate tall items in the upper or lower rack.
2. To lift the rack grab both sides and pull up. This allows you to accomodate tall dishes in the lower rack.
3. Push the levers on both sides to lower the upper rack. Lowering the upper rack allows you to accomodate taller items like wine glasses.

#4 How to add softening salt to your dishwasher

Some dishwasher models use softening salt to soften the hard water that enters the dishwasher. If your dishwasher uses softening salt, just remember to fill the salt container regularly and wipe away any salt crystals that have spilled around the container lid so they do not degrade the stainless steel tub. Watch the video for instructions on how to add softening salt to your dishwasher.

#5 Why do I need to descale my dishwasher?

Dishwashers are used on a regular basis which means that limescale can build up quickly, especially in hard water areas. To keep your dishwasher working as efficiently and effectively as possible, and to ensure your dishes come out perfectly clean, regular descaling is important.
