Browser Remote: Controlling the Camcorder from a Network Device

Starting Browser Remote
After completing the network connection, you can start the Browser Remote application on the Web browser* of
any network device** connected to the same network.
* A Web browser that supports JavaScript and is enabled to accept cookies is required.

Preparations on the Camcorder
1 Select the desired network connection (A 110).
• Use a Camera Access Point connection.
2 Activate the Browser Remote function.
> [B ! System Setup] > [Network Settings] > [Activate] > [Browser Remote]
• The camcorder will start functioning as a wireless access point.
• The connection type icon and will appear at the right of the screen. When the icons turn white, the
camcorder is ready to accept commands from the Browser Remote application.
3 If necessary, display the camcorder's settings to complete the connection.
[L] > [View Information]
• The current Browser Remote and network settings will be displayed. If necessary, touch [Í]/[Î] to scroll
up/down.
• You will need the camcorder's SSID (network name) to connect a Wi-Fi device using a Camera Access Point
connection. You will need the camcorder's URL to use the Browser Remote application.
4 Touch [L] and then [X] to close the menu.
On the Network Device
1 Connect the network device to the camcorder.
• On Wi-Fi devices select the camcorder’s SSID (network name) in the Wi-Fi settings.
2 Start the Web browser on the network device.
3 Enter the camcorder’s URL exactly as shown on the camcorder's
information screen.
• The Browser Remote screen will appear.
• While Browser Remote is correctly connected to the camcorder, the network
connection indicator’s will keep turning on and off in a loop.
• If the camcorder's ID was set, it will appear on the Browser Remote screen while live view is not activated.
