This warranty applies to products purchased and used in
the U.S. and Canada. This is the only express warranty
for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or
condition.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in
material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years
from the date of original purchase in Canada and one
(1) year from the date of original purchase in the U.S.
During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or
replacement of this product or any component found to
be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible
for all costs associated with returning the product to us
and our returning a product or component under this
warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer
available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or
greater value.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from
normal use, use not in conformity with the printed
directions, or damage to the product resulting from
accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty
extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift
recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of
purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This
warranty is void if the product is used for other than
single-family household use or subjected to any voltage
and waveform other than as specified on the rating label

How to use the kettle
w CAUTION
Burn Hazard. Do not overfill kettle.
Boiling water may spit out of the spout.
BEFORE FIRST USE: Pull up on lid to remove, and fill
kettle with water to the MAX fill line on the inside of the
kettle. Press ON/OFF (l/
) button to turn the kettle ON (l).
The kettle will bring the water to a boil. Press ON/OFF
(l/ ) button to turn the kettle OFF ( ). Discard water
and repeat 2–3 times, rinsing out the kettle each time.
The kettle is now ready for use.
1. Remove kettle from power base before filling.
2. Fill kettle with required amount of water. Ensure that
the water level is below the MAX line.
3. Make sure the lid is in place and the power base is
on a level surface.
4. Plug into outlet and press ON/OFF (l/ ) button. The
ON/OFF (l/ ) button will illuminate in red and stay on.
Current water temperature is shown on the display.
5. Set desired water temperature) or just let kettle bring
water to a boil (212°F/100°C).
6. The 60-minute Keep Warm cycle will begin and
the red Keep Warm light will illuminate in the
display when the water has reached the desired
temperature. The current water temperature will
show in the display. Press the ON/OFF (l/ ) button at
anytime to turn the kettle OFF ( ). (Remember, the
surface of the kettle gets hot; take care —only grip
the kettle by the handle.)
7. After 1 hour, the ON (l) and the Keep Warm lights turn
off, and the current water temperature is displayed.
8. The kettle may be left on the base once water is
heated, but it is recommended to turn OFF ( ).
Unplug and empty any water from the kettle.
NOTE: Only use kettle to heat water. If kettle is used to
heat other liquids, such as coffee or tea, the warranty
will be voided.
To choose a preprogrammed water temperature:
Press the PRESET TEMP button repeatedly until the
temperature you desire shows on the display; then
release button. Starting at 212°F/100°C, several preset
temperatures will cycle through the display.
To set a custom water temperature:
Press the PRESET TEMP button to see the current
temperature setting. Press the + or – buttons to change
the desired temperature in 5°F/2–3°C increments and
then release.
NOTE: 150°F/65°C is the minimum temperature that
can be programmed.
If kettle floor discolors: It is normal for stainless steel
heating elements to discolor. This does not affect the
performance of the kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring
pads or cleaners since this may damage the stainless
steel surface.
If kettle boils dry: The heating element is protected
by two automatic safety devices. If your kettle is
accidentally switched on without being filled with water,
or is allowed to boil dry, the kettle will automatically
switch off. You should:
• Press ON/OFF (l/
) button to turn OFF ( ), unplug, and
wait about 20 minutes for the element to cool down.
• Refill the kettle; then use as normal and check that
the kettle functions correctly.
Troubleshooting
Make these simple checks before calling the toll-free
customer assistance number:
• Have you pressed the ON/OFF (l/ ) button?
• If the kettle heats but does not boil, it might need
descaling (see “Care and cleaning” section).
• Has the kettle been accidentally turned on without
being filled with water or allowed to boil dry? Press
the ON/OFF (l/ ) button to OFF ( ), wait 20 minutes,
and try again.
• Is cord firmly plugged into the outlet and kettle firmly
seated in the base?
Tea guide
• Bring filtered or good-tasting tap water to a boil in the
kettle. Use 6 ounces (177 ml) of water per cup of tea.
• If using loose tea instead of tea bags, measure 1
rounded teaspoon of tea per cup into an infuser and
place the infuser in the cup. If no infuser is available,
put the tea directly into the cup.
• Pour heated water directly over the tea. For stronger
tea, add more leaves rather than infusing longer than
is recommended.
NOTE: Tea that is oversteeped will become bitter.
NOTE: Temperature settings can vary depending on
a number of factors, such as altitude, impurities in the
water, and the amount of water in the kettle.
w WARNING
Electric Shock Hazard. Do not
immerse kettle, power base, or plug in water or any
other liquid.
1. Unplug kettle, empty any remaining water, and rinse.
Allow kettle to cool.
2. To avoid scale/lime deposit buildup, empty kettle
after each use. To remove discoloration or scale/lime
deposit from heating element: Place 1/2 teaspoon
(2.5 ml) cream of tartar (available in the spice aisle of
grocery store) into the kettle. Then fill the kettle 1/2
full with water. Plug into outlet. Press ON (l), and bring
to boil. Press OFF (
), let cool, and rinse several times
with clean tap water.
3. Wipe the exterior of kettle with a damp cloth. Do not
use abrasive scouring pads or powders since they
may scratch the smooth surface of the kettle.

Pour choisir un degré de température d’eau
préprogrammé :
Appuyer plusieurs fois sur le bouton PRESET TEMP (temp.
préréglée) jusqu’à ce que le degré de température de
l’eau désiré s’affiche et relâcher le bouton. Plusieurs
degrés de température préprogrammés, commençant
à 100 °C (212 °F), seront indiqués sur l’afficheur.

Utilisation de la bouilloire électrique
w ATTENTION
Risque de brûlures. Ne pas trop
remplit la bouilloire. L’eau brûlante peut jaillir hors du bec.
AVANT LA PREMIÈRE UTILISATION : Tirer sur
le couvercle vers le haut pour le retirer et remplir la
bouilloire avec de l’eau jusqu’à la ligne MAX inscrite sur
l’intérieur. Appuyer sur le bouton ON/OFF (I/ ) (marche/
arrêt) pour mettre la bouilloire en marche (I). La bouilloire
portera l’eau à ébullition. Appuyer sur le bouton ON/OFF
(I/ ) (marche/arrêt) pour mettre la bouilloire hors tension
( ). Jeter l’eau et répéter cette étape 2 à 3 fois en rinçant
chaque fois la bouilloire. La bouilloire est maintenant
prête à utiliser.

Retirer la bouilloire du socle électrique avant de la
remplir.
2.
Remplir la bouilloire selon la quantité d’eau nécessaire.
S’assurer que le niveau de l’eau ne dépasse pas la
ligne MAX.
3.
S’assurer que le couvercle est bien fermé et que son
socle repose sur une surface de niveau.
4.
Brancher la bouilloire dans une prise électrique et
appuyer sur le bouton ON/OFF (l/ ) (marche/arrêt). Le
bouton ON/OFF (l/ ) (marche/arrêt) s’allumera en rouge
et restera allumé. La température actuelle de l’eau est
indiquée sur l’afficheur.

Régler la température de l’eau au degré désiré ou
laisser la bouilloire porter l’eau au point d’ébullition
(100 °C/212 °F).
6.
Le cycle Keep Warm (garder chaud) de 60 minutes
débutera et le témoin Keep Warm s’allumera sur
l’afficheur une fois atteinte la température de l’eau
désirée. La température de l’eau actuelle s’affichera à
l’écran. Appuyer sur le bouton ON/OFF (l/ )
(marche/arrêt) en tout temps pour éteindre ( ) la
bouilloire. (Garder en mémoire que la surface de la
bouilloire sera chaude et de prendre la bouilloire en
utilisant uniquement la poignée).
7.
Au bout d’une heure, les témoins ON (l) et Keep Warm
s’éteignent et la température actuelle de l’eau est
affichée.

La bouilloire peut être laissée sur son socle une fois
l’eau chauffée, mais nous recommandons de mettre
l’appareil hors tension (OFF/ ). Débrancher le bouilloire
et la vider de son eau.
REMARQUE : N’utiliser la bouilloire que pour faire
bouillir de l’eau. La garantie est annulée si la bouilloire
est utilisée pour faire bouillir d’autres sortes de liquides
comme le café ou le thé.
