IfyouneedtoreplaceyourSIMcard,refertothefollowinginstructions.
1. Turnthephoneoff,thenremovethebackcoverandthebattery(as
demonstratedinthepreviousinstructions).
2. LocatetheslotfortheSIMcard(thelowerofthetwoslotsabovethe
upper-rightcornerofthebatterycompartment)andgentlyslidetheSIM
cardouttoremoveit.
CAUTION IfamicroSDcardisinsertedinyourphone,pleaseremoveitfromtheupperslot
beforetryingtoremovetheSIMcard.

andlocatethedualslotjustabovetheupper-rightcornerofthebattery

upperslotuntilit'ssecuredinplace.

phonesundertheHearingAidCompatibilityActof1988(HACAct)to
requiredigitalwirelessphonesbecompatiblewithhearing-aids.Theintent
oftheHACActistoensurereasonableaccesstotelecommunications
servicesforpersonswithhearingdisabilities.Whilesomewirelessphones
areusednearsomehearingdevices(hearingaidsandcochlearimplants),
usersmaydetectabuzzing,humming,orwhiningnoise.Somehearing
devicesaremoreimmunethanotherstothisinterferencenoise,and
phonesalsovaryintheamountofinterferencetheygenerate.Thewireless
telephoneindustryhasdevelopedaratingsystemforwirelessphones,to
assisthearingdeviceuserstondphonesthatmaybecompatiblewith
theirhearingdevices.Notallphoneshavebeenrated.Phonesthatare
ratedhavetheratingontheirboxoralabellocatedonthebox.
Theratingsarenotguarantees.Resultswillvarydependingontheuser's

3. What kinds of phones are the subject of this update?
Theterm“wirelessphone”refersheretohandheldwirelessphoneswith
built-inantennas,oftencalled“cell”,“mobile”,or“PCS”phones.These
typesofwirelessphonescanexposetheusertomeasurableRadio
Frequency(RF)energybecauseoftheshortdistancebetweenthephone
andtheuser’shead.
TheseRFexposuresarelimitedbyFCCsafetyguidelinesthatwere

4. What are the results of the research done already?
Theresearchdonethusfarhasproducedconictingresults,andmany
studieshavesufferedfromawsintheirresearchmethods.Animal
experimentsinvestigatingtheeffectsofRadioFrequency(RF)energy
exposurescharacteristicofwirelessphoneshaveyieldedconictingresults
thatoftencannotberepeatedinotherlaboratories.Afewanimalstudies,
however,havesuggestedthatlowlevelsofRFcouldacceleratethe
developmentofcancerinlaboratoryanimals.However,manyofthestudies
thatshowedincreasedtumordevelopmentusedanimalsthathadbeen
geneticallyengineeredortreatedwithcancercausingchemicalssoastobe
pre-disposedtodevelopcancerintheabsenceofRFexposure.Other
studiesexposedtheanimalstoRFforupto22hoursperday.These
conditionsarenotsimilartotheconditionsunderwhichpeopleuse

havebeenpublishedsinceDecember2000.Betweenthem,
thestudies
investigatedanypossibleassociationbetweentheuseofwirelessphones
andprimarybraincancer,glioma,meningioma,oracousticneuroma,
tumorsofthebrainorsalivarygland,leukemia,orothercancers.Noneof
thestudiesdemonstratedtheexistenceofanyharmfulhealtheffectsfrom
wirelessphoneRFexposures.However,noneofthestudiescananswer
questionsaboutlong-termexposures,sincetheaverageperiodofphone
useinthesestudieswasaroundthreeyears.
5. What research is needed to decide whether RF exposure from
wireless phones poses a health risk?
Acombinationoflaboratorystudiesandepidemiologicalstudiesofpeople
actuallyusingwirelessphoneswouldprovidesomeofthedatathatare
needed.Lifetimeanimalexposurestudiescouldbecompletedinafew
years.However,verylargenumbersofanimalswouldbeneededtoprovide

(2) Thelimitedwarrantyextendsonlytotheoriginalpurchaserofthe
productandisnotassignableortransferabletoanysubsequent
purchaser/enduser.
(3) Thiswarrantyisgoodonlytotheoriginalpurchaseroftheproduct
duringthewarrantyperiodaslongasitisintheU.S.,includingAlaska,
Hawaii,U.S.TerritoriesandCanada.
(4) Theexternalhousingandcosmeticpartsshallbefreeofdefectsatthe
timeofshipmentand,therefore,shallnotbecoveredunderthese
limitedwarrantyterms.
(5) UponrequestfromLG,theconsumermustprovideinformationto
reasonablyprovethedateofpurchase.
(6) Thecustomershallbearthecostofshippingtheproducttothe
CustomerServiceDepartmentofLG.LGshallbearthecostofshipping
the
productbacktotheconsumerafterthecompletionofservice
underthislimitedwarranty.
2. WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
(1) Defectsordamagesresultingfromuseoftheproductinotherthanits
normalandcustomarymanner.
(2) Defectsordamagesfromabnormaluse,abnormalconditions,
improperstorage,exposuretomoistureordampness,unauthorized

neglect,abuse,accident,alteration,improperinstallation,orotheracts
whicharenotthefaultofLG,includingdamagecausedbyshipping,

(3) Breakageordamagetoantennasunlesscauseddirectlybydefectsin
materialorworkmanship.
(4) ThattheCustomerServiceDepartmentatLGwasnotnotiedby
consumeroftheallegeddefectormalfunctionoftheproductduring
theapplicablelimitedwarrantyperiod.
(5) Productswhichhavehadtheserialnumberremovedormadeillegible.
(6) Thislimitedwarrantyisinlieuofallotherwarranties,expressor
impliedeitherinfactorbyoperationsoflaw,statutoryorotherwise,
including,butnotlimitedtoanyimpliedwarrantyofmarketabilityor
tnessforaparticularuse.
(7) DamageresultingfromuseofnonLGapprovedaccessories.
(8) Allplasticsurfacesandallotherexternallyexposedpartsthatare
scratchedordamagedduetonormalcustomeruse.
(9) Productsoperatedoutsidepublishedmaximumratings.
(10)Productsusedorobtainedinarentalprogram.
(11)Consumables(suchasfuses).
3. WHAT LG WILL DO:
LGwill,atitssoleoption,eitherrepair,replaceorrefundthepurchaseprice
ofanyunitthatiscoveredunderthislimitedwarranty.LGmaychooseatits
optiontousefunctionallyequivalentre-conditioned,refurbishedornew
unitsorpartsoranyunits.Inaddition,LGwillnotre-installorback-upany
data,applicationsorsoftwarethatyouhaveaddedtoyourphone.Itis
thereforerecommendedthatyouback-upanysuchdataorinformation
priortosendingtheunittoLGtoavoidthepermanentlossofsuch
information.
