Advice and recommendations on use
TIPS AND HINTS
Choose fresh fruit that is solid, not soft –it will yield more juice. Always wash citrus fruit before
juicing to remove pesticides and residues from handling. Room temperature fruit will yield more juice than
refrigerated fruit. Roll fruits on the countertop with the palm of your hand a few times: it helps to increase
the juice yield.
Choose oranges, lemons and limes with smooth, brightly colored skin. The best are rm, plump and heavy
for their size. Small brown areas on the skin (“scald” spots) will not affect avor or juiciness. Avoid lemons/
limes with hard or shriveled skin.
Grapefruits should have thin, nely textured, brightly colored skin. The thinner the skin, the more juice.
The half-sphere skins that remain after juicing the citrus fruit can be nice containers for desserts such as
sorbets.
Juice from pink grapefruit contains more vitamin A than from white grapefruit.
BENEFITS
Citrus juice is an excellent source of vitamin C, but the juice begins to lose its vitamin power after squeezing.
Fresh citrus juice loses 20% of its vitamin C potency within 24 hours. The best juice is “just squeezed”. Fresh
juice has a lot more avor than the purchased juices and will make your nished recipes more avorful.
OPERATION
1. Place juicer on a clean, dry counter.
2. Remove the lid (1).
3. Select the size of the available large or small cones according to the fruits you intend to squeeze.
4. Slice fruit horizontally.
5. Place center of citrus fruit on the center of the juicing cone. For large and small citrus fruits, place palm
of hand over the fruit.
6. Press fruit against cone by using rm steady pressure to activate juicing mechanism.
HANDY HINTS: MOVE THE FRUIT FROM SIDE TO SIDE AGAINST THE CONE WHILST JUICING TO EXTRACT MAXIMUM
JUICE. MORE JUICE IS OBTAINED FROM FRUIT JUICED AT THE ROOM TEMPERATURE.
ATTENTION: DO NOT PRESS AS HARD AS TO STOP THE MOTOR ROTATION
7. If you remove the pressure, lifting the fruit off the cone, the rotation of the cone will automatically
stop.
8. Once you feel the ribs of the cone through the citrus rind, remove from cone and repeat steps 4-5-6 with
other part of the fruits.
9. When some fruits have been juiced the strainer will be full of pulp and seed.
10. Remove cones (2 and 3) and strainer (5) and empty and clean the strainer itself from the pulp and
