I do not think it has enough power for a average size room. I use it under my desk at work and there are time when my foot closest to the heater is warm but the other is still cold.

Yes, the fan turns off when the heat goes off. However, it claims to have a function for warm weather where you can run just the fan, but we haven't tried that because it's been cold.

I estimate about 8 feet. If you are going to use an extension cord, make certain that it can handle the electric load. And if it means anything, this is a good buy with the tip-over feature.

No remote it plugs in and it’s a great little heater it heats a room that’s 16x18 with a high ceiling it’s really quiet too
