Ecobee EBSCV01 Questions and Answers

#1 Is it possible to stream the video to my computer directly?

No, you cannot (yet). The camera is not (yet) accessible when you access your ecobee account on their website, either. The video feed is only available on ecobee's official apps (for Android and iPhone) and they have not yet exposed it in their API (so non-ecobee apps can access it).

#2 Can you monitor this remotely from any location?

Yes, you can see and control the camera via the ecobee app from anywhere.

#3 Is there a version without Alexa built in? I know it can be turned off but being that it’s an indoor camera I do not want a built-in voice assistant

I have it and don’t even know how to set it up. I’m on Apple. Don’t worry about it it’s a great camera

#4 Does this camera need any kind of monthly subscription? i do not have alexa. also will it work with an android phone?

Yes, it does have a monthly subscription if you want to store footage. It will work with iOS and Android phones.

#5 Does the camera have the ability to turn while in a stationary position?

The camera is not motorized and only works in a stationary position. However, it has a wide field of view which they use to create a virtual pan effect, making it seem the camera is following you (even though it is stationary the whole time).

#6 How about the packing? Can packaging protect goods well?

The camera was packed well enough that it arrived without any damage. All functions of the camera are working perfectly.

#7 Is this wireless?

No. The camera is not wireless, but you have a lot of opportunities regarding its use on your Ecobee smartphone app!
