#1 Can the stand legs be slid more to center, or is it fixed to the ends of the TV? e.g., the platform I have is slightly smaller than the length of tv

Yes, you can move them more to center. Look on back of TV and you will see two elongated plastic brackets that have been screwed in to the back in the center about 8" apart. Remove the brackets and the legs can be screwed into the set. Make sure you lay it on a soft surface when you do this. There are also directions in set-up brochure.

#2 Does the TV come with a camera? Or does one need to be purchased to allow for Skype?

The TV comes with a camera attached to the back of the unit in the center. It swivels up/down so if you don't want the camera sticking up all the time you can swivel it down.
The documentation says the camera will work with Skype.

#3 Can camera be unscrewed and removed? Do not want it on TV.

The camera can be flip to the back of TV, making it unable to take pictures. I don't like the idea of big brother watching so this was a big concern for me too. This is a great TV, I love watching 3D movies.

#4 Does this model come with the Touchpad Remote Control or is it purchased separately?

The touch pad remote control is included in the package.

#5 Is there a center stand available for this model? Have the stands on the outside edges will interfere with my cabinet set up.

This model comes with the outside edges. I do have a model which is the model before this one, in a new unopened box Sony XBR65X850A which has a center stand! It's a great version and for the same features it has the stand you need. Let me know if you need anything else, have a happy and healthy day!
