CYCLE OPTIONS AND SPECIAL
FEATURES
Your dryer features several additional cycle options and
special features to meet your individual needs. For all
steam features, see the following pages.
WRINKLE GUARD
Selecting this option will tumble the
clothes after the cycle ends for a few
seconds every few minutes without heat.
This option is active for 180 minutes after the end of the
cycle, or until the door is opened. This helps prevent
wrinkles if the clothes are not removed immediately
after the cycle has nished.
CONTROL LOCK
(MODELS 8156*/9156*, 8146*/9146*)
This option disables the controls and can be
activated any time the dryer is ON. When
the controls are locked “CL” will display
alternately with the estimated time
remaining. Once set, Control Lock must be turned o
before the controls can be used.
Press and hold the CHIME button until the Control Lock
LED turns on/o to lock/unlock the controls.

This option disables the controls and can be
activated any time the dryer is ON. When
the controls are locked “CL” will display
alternately with the estimated time
remaining. Once set, Control Lock must be turned o
before the controls can be used.
Press the CONTROL LOCK button to lock or unlock the
controls. The LED turns on when the controls are locked.
MY CYCLE
The MY CYCLE feature allows you to
download new and specialized cycles
that are not included in the standard
cycles on the appliance.
After successfuly registering the appliance using the
Kenmore Smart application, you can download a
variety of specialty cycles speci c to the appliance.
Only one cycle can be stored in the MY CYCLE slot on
the appliance at a time. Once you have downloaded a
cycle to the appliance, it is stored until you download a
new MY CYCLE. The default My Cycle is Small Load.
NOTE: You must rst connect to a Wi-Fi network and
register the appliance in order to use the MY CYCLE
function.
DAMP DRY SIGNAL
If you select the Damp Dry Signal option,
the dryer will emit a chime when the
clothes are just short of completely dry, in
case you want to remove them for ironing or hang
drying.
HOW TO USE
Do not open the dryer door during Steam Cycles.
Steam can cause severe burns.
Do not touch the steam nozzle in the drum during or
after the steam cycle.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT STEAM FUNCTIONS:
Steam may not be clearly visible during the steam
functions. This is normal.
Do not use Steam Refresh with items such as wool,
wool blankets, leather jackets, silk, wet clothes, lingerie,
foam products, or electric blankets.
For best results, load articles of similar size and fabric
type. Do not overload.
If the homes exhaust system is restricted, the
performance of the steam functions will be reduced.
During steam operation, the clothes will tumble for
only a few seconds, once a minute.

The drum is equipped with an LED that
illuminates when the dryer is turned on.
This light automatically turns o when the
door is closed and the cycle starts.
To turn on the light during a cycle, press and hold the
ENERGY SAVER button for three seconds. The drum light
will illuminate and then turn o automatically after 60
minutes. The light operates only while the appliance is
turned on.
DRUM LIGHT
(MODELS 8146*/9146*, 8136*/9136*)

ENERGY SAVER
This option helps to reduce energy
consumption in the Normal cycle,
depending on the load size. When the
Energy Saver option is selected, the cycle begins with
an air dry section, and the drying time is increased.
NOTE: The ENERGY SAVER option is turned on by
default in the Normal cycle. Turn o the ENERGY
SAVER option for a faster Normal cycle which begins
with heated drying.
