You would use the marked Surround Back terminals and assign them in the AVR's menu (Amp Assign) for a pair of Atmos speakers. (Front Height, Rear Height, etc.)
There is one specific 8K source device that won't pass 4K/120 through the AVR. We will have a fix for that coming very soon. All other 4K/120 & 8K sources have no issue passing those resolutions through the AVR.
#3 I am planning to use as a stereo system. how does this pair with klipcsh sub woofer and bookshelf speakers?
Hello and thank you for your question and interest in our product. The Marantz SR5015 will pair very nice with a Klipsch 2.1 system. The Marantz SR5015 allows for Bi-amp as most Klipsch speakers allow for this feature.
#4 is it required to use heos speakers for the wireless speaker option or is any wireless speaker permitted ?
None of our NR or SR models allow for HEOS speakers as wireless Surrounds. You can use HEOS speakers in a stereo application and then Group them to the receiver using the HEOS App.
#5 Do the 2020 versions require the adapter kit to fix the hdmi 2.1 issues?
Hello and thank you for your question. Early versions manufactured before June of this year will require the adapter kit if you own the new XBOX and 8K TV. There are several work arounds including the adapter kit at no charge to the customer. The 2.1 bug was an isolated issue that only affected playback of the new XBOX in 8K or 4K/120 hz. All receiver brands shared this issue.
#6 Does the marantz sr5015 draw a mute icon on the screen when you turn on muting. and if it does, can it be disabled?
No, the MUTE icon on the TV cannot be disabled when the MUTE option is enabled. You can turn down the volume all the way to "mute" the audio and then you will not see the MUTE icon on the TV.
