There is acoustic feedback.
Reduce the volume.
Move the microphone away from the
speakers or change the direction of the
microphone.
The sound from the music source has
echo effects.
Press FLANGER, DELAY or
CHORUS repeatedly until
“FLANGER”, “DELAY” and
“CHORUS” disappear from the display.
The meter pointer does not move.
Check that “METER POINTER” is not
set to “OFF” in OPTIONS menu
(page 31).
Check that METER MODE is not set to
“METER OFF”.
The headphones are connected to the
PHONES jack.
The meter display is turned off.
Check that “METER POINTER” and
“METER BACKLIGHT” are not set to
“OFF” in OPTIONS menu (page 31).
Check that METER MODE is not set to
“METER OFF”.
The meter display is flashing.
Check that “METER POINTER” and
“METER BACKLIGHT” are not set to
“FLASH” in OPTIONS menu
(page 31).
Check that METER MODE is not set to
“EXCITE 1” or “EXCITE 2”.
Speakers
Sound comes from one channel or
unbalanced left and right volume.
Place the speakers as symmetrically as
possible.
Check that the speaker are connected
securely and correctly.
The source being played back is
monaural.
(MHC-GTX888 only)
There is no sound from the
subwoofers.
Adjust the subwoofer level to the
appropriate level.
Check that the subwoofers are
connected securely and correctly.
Check that both subwoofer A and
subwoofer B are connected to the unit.
(MHC-GTX888/MHC-GTX777 only)
There is no sound from the surround
speaker.
Check that the surround speakers are
connected securely and correctly.
(MHC-GTX787/LBT-ZTX7 only)
Sound lacks bass.
Check that the speaker’s + and –
terminals are connected correctly.
Disc player
The disc tray does not open and
“LOCKED” appears in the display.
Consult your nearest Sony dealer or
local authorized Sony service facility.
The disc tray does not close.
Load the disc correctly.
Always close the disc tray by pressing
OPEN/CLOSE Z. Do not forcibly push
the disc tray to close it as this may cause
a malfunction.
The disc does not eject.
You cannot eject the disc during
CD-USB Synchronized Transfer,
CD-TAPE Synchro Recording, or
REC1 Transferring. Press x to cancel
the transferring, then press OPEN/
CLOSE Z to eject the disc.
Consult your nearest Sony dealer.
