#1 Can these speakers be used in a 70v or a 100v application?

Not only in 6 or 8 Ohms, maybe you can see the VCX Series and VS Series for commercial use, those are perfect to work for 70v or 100v.

#2 Can these speakers be installed in new construction (mounting on rafters) prior to putting on the sheet rock?

Ours were installed in new construction. But I think the answer to your question is no. These get mounted into the new or existing sheet rock. I did not see any method to install these between the rafters like you would expect with can lights for example.

#3 Will these speakers fit in a 10" hole?

Yamaha provide a cutout template with the speakers. I looked at mine that I had kept and the diameter of the cutout is 9 and 7/16 inches. The speaker frame size, the part on the outside of the hole, is 10 and 9/32 inches.

#4 Will these speakers work well with an amplifier with an output impedance of 8 ohms?

These are 6 ohm speakers so I will safely say no. You may want to contact the amplifier manufacturer for their input.
