IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
2. To protect against electrical shock, fire and injury to persons, do not immerse
the multi-grater, charging base, cord or plug in water or any other liquid.
3. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
4. Unplug charger base from outlet before cleaning.
5. Charger base should be plugged into an electrical outlet away from sink or hot
surfaces.
6. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appli-
ance has malfunctioned or has been dropped or damaged in any way, or is not
operating properly. Return the appliance to the nearest Cuisinart Repair Center
for examination, repair, mechanical or electrical adjustment.
8. The use of attachments or accessories not recommended by Cuisinart may
cause fire, electrical shock or risk of injury.
9. This appliance is intended for household use only and not for commercial or
industrial use.
10. This product contains nickel-metal hydride batteries, which must be recycled at
the end of the batteries’ life. (Please see Battery Safety and Disposal section).
Do not incinerate or compost batteries, as they will combust at high
temperatures.
11. Do not incinerate the multi-grater, even if it is severely damaged. The batteries
can explode in a fire.
12. Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If the liquid,
which is a 20–35% solution of potassium hydroxide, gets on the skin, (1) wash
quickly with soap and water or (2) neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon
juice or vinegar. If the liquid gets into eyes, flush them immediately with clean
water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention.
13. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
14. Do not remove or add parts while operating the unit.
15. Avoid contact with moving parts. Your Cuisinart
®
Multi-Grater is built with an
extra-large handle opening. Be sure to always keep away from rotating drum
while in use.
16. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. Always handle processing drums by the
plastic ends.
17. Do not use outdoors. Do not use with an extension cord. Plug charger directly
into an electric outlet. Use only with the charger provided with the appliance.
Do not attempt to use this charger with any other product. Likewise, do not
attempt to charge this appliance with any other charger.
18. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter. Do not let cord come in
contact with hot surfaces including the stove.
19. Do not operate your appliance in an appliance garage or under a wall cabinet.
When storing in an appliance garage always unplug the unit from the electrical
outlet. Not doing so could create a risk of fire, especially if the appliance touch-
es the walls of the garage or the door touches the unit as it closes.

CAUTION
Opening the main unit automatically voids the warranty.
Maximum rating is based on the slicing drum attachment that draws the
greatest power. Other recommended attachments may draw significantly
less power.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY TIPS
1. Do not attempt to open the multi-grater or the charging base. Doing so will
automatically void warranty.
2. Batteries are not replaceable. When batteries reach the end of their life, the unit
must be disposed of in accordance with the laws and regulations in your area
governing disposal of such cell types. Please refer to Battery Safety and
Disposal.
3. Do not operate the unit on the charging base. Doing so may cause damage to
the unit or the battery and voids warranty.
4. Before removing or adding accessories, lift the pusher handle from the main
body to prevent accidentally activating the motor.
CONSUMER SAFETY INFORMATION
This product contains a UL listed transformer. DO NOT dispose of the unit or the
battery in household waste bins. DO NOT disassemble, crush or puncture the
battery in any fashion.

Press and hold the ON/OFF button to operate the multi-grater. Release button
to stop motor. For best results, do not use short pulses.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR MULTI-GRATER

BEFORE FIRST USE
Place the package containing the Cuisinart
®
Cordless Rechargeable Multi-Grater on
a sturdy surface and unpack all pieces, being sure to remove all packaging materials
from in and around the unit.
To remove any dust that may have accumulated during packaging, wipe the
charging base and main body with a clean, damp cloth.
The 3 drums, drum cover, hopper assembly and pusher can all be removed from the
unit and washed with warm soapy water or placed on top rack of dishwasher.
Be sure to rinse and dry thoroughly.
Read all instructions completely for detailed operating procedures.
ASSEMBLING YOUR MULTI-GRATER
After your multi-grater has been thoroughly cleaned, be sure it is properly assembled
before using.
1. Be sure that all parts are completely dry
prior to assembly.
2. Insert the hopper into the left hopper
cover, lining up the 2 tabs. It will click
into place.
3. Attach the right hopper cover, ensuring it
clicks to lock into place.
4. Attach the hopper assembly to the main
body of the unit by inserting the tabs on
the bottom of hopper assembly into the
open slots on the main body.
5. Slide away from the handle to secure.
6. Insert the desired processing drum into the
hopper, being sure the end with gear is
facing out.
7. Slide the drum cover into position.
8. Attach the food pusher to the handle,
pressing it firmly into place.
9. Your multi-grater is now ready to charge.
CHARGING YOUR MULTI-GRATER
NOTE: The batteries included in this unit are not charged. Before initial use, the
batteries must be charged for 24 hours to insure maximum operating capability. For
best performance, fully discharge and recharge the battery 3 times before first use.
1. Ensure the multi-grater is properly assembled.
2. Attach the DC plug of the charger to the charging base.
3. Place assembled multi-grater onto charging base, ensuring the multi-grater
locks into place.
4. Plug charger into a 120V - 60Hz AC outlet only.
5. The red light will illuminate to indicate the main unit has been correctly placed
on charging base and that it's accepting a charge. If the red light is not illumi-
nated, lift and reposition unit on the charging base.
6. If after repositioning, the red light is still not illuminated, check to ensure that
the power cord is securely plugged into outlet and the DC plug is securely
plugged into the charging base.
If problem persists, please contact our Customer Service Center at
1-800-726-0190 to have your multi-grater replaced.

NOTE: To ensure the longest battery life, unit must be charged for a minimum of 24
hours for the initial charge.
WARNING
Do not immerse, charging base or main body in water or any other liquid. Do not
use harsh or abrasive cleansers on any part of the appliance.
CONTINUOUS CHARGING
The unit is designed so that the batteries may remain on continuous charge. It is
recommended that the Cuisinart Cordless Rechargeable Multi-Grater charger be
kept plugged into a wall socket so that the grater will always be ready to use.
Leaving the unit on continuous charge is inexpensive in terms of the amount of
electricity consumed.
Use only with the charger provided with the appliance. Do not attempt to use this
charger with any other product. Likewise, do not attempt to charge this appliance
with any other charger.
HOLDING A CHARGE
The batteries hold most of their charge even when not plugged in and charging,
losing only about 30% of total charge per month.
SHORT RUN TIMES
If, after repeated use, the run time seems to get shorter and the multi-grater has less
power, remove the plug from the wall outlet and continue to use the grater until it is
fully discharged and stops operating. Plug base back into wall outlet and recharge
the unit for 16 hours or overnight for a full new charge. This procedure improves
battery capacity and should be repeated once every 2 to 3 months to ensure
optimum performance.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Grating, Shredding and Slicing
NOTE: Before initial use, be sure the batteries have been charged for no less
than 24 hours
1. Ensure that your multi-grater has been appropriately assembled, with the hop-
per attached to the main body and the food pusher attached to the handle.
2. Insert the desired processing drum into the hopper. Refer to the section Tips
for Using Your Cordless Rechargeable Multi-Grater on page 8 and for suggest-
ed uses for each drum.
3. Place the drum cover onto the side of the hopper to secure the drum in place.
4. Lift the handle from the main body and place your chosen food into the hopper
and lower the handle, being sure that the piece inserted is sized appropriately.
If the piece of food is too large, it may prevent the unit’s handle from lowering
far enough to initiate power.
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of injury to persons, and /or damage to the unit, keep
hands, hair, clothing and any utensils away from the moving parts during operation.
Never touch the hopper or drums during operation.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Be sure to remove the drum from unit after each use, wash with warm soapy water,

BATTERY SAFETY AND DISPOSAL
This product contains a sealed nickel-metal hydride battery. DO NOT dispose of
either the product or the battery in a fire. Dispose of the nickel-metal hydride battery
in accordance with the laws and regulations in your area governing disposal of such
cell types.
When unit reaches the end of its life, it must not be disposed of in standard
household waste. Your local authority will have a center that accepts such waste for
recycling or disposal. Please check local regulations for information about the
disposal of electronic products in your area.

This warranty is available to consumers only. You are a consumer if you own a

Cordless Rechargeable Multi-Grater that was purchased at retail for
personal, family or household use. Except as otherwise required under applicable law,
this warranty is not available to retailers or other commercial purchasers or owners.
We warrant that your Cuisinart
®
Cordless Rechargeable Multi-Grater will be free of
defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use for 3 years from the
date of original purchase.
We recommend that you visit our website, www.cuisinart.com for a fast, efcient
way to complete your product registration. However, product registration does not
eliminate the need for the consumer to maintain the original proof of purchase in order
to obtain the warranty benets. In the event that you do not have proof of purchase
date, the purchase date for purposes of this warranty will be the date of manufacture.

LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
Después de cada uso, limpie los tambores en agua jabonosa tibia, enjuáguelos y

CONSEJOS
• El rallador multiuso recargable/inalámbrico le permite rallar queso
directamente en los platos. ¡Es perfecto cuando tiene invitados!
• Cerciórese de limpiar la unidad cuidadosamente después de cada uso.
• El rallador multiuso recargable/inalámbrico es ideal para rallar especias,
quesos duros, nueces y chocolate.
• Se aconseja usar el tambor triturador para triturar los quesos semi-duros,
como el queso Cheddar, el queso americano o el queso suizo. Para
mejores resultados, utilice queso muy frío. No le aconsejamos que intente
triturar quesos suaves o a temperatura ambiente; no obtendrá buenos
resultados.
• Cualquiera de los tambores puede usarse para rallar/triturar/rebanar el
queso duro, como el queso Parmesano o Romano. Elija el tambor más
adecuado para su receta.
• De un toque especial a sus postres con virutas de chocolate, usando el
tambor rebanador.
• Utilice el tambor rallador para rallar chocolates duros para usar en
bebidas o postres.
• El tambor rallador es perfecto para rallar nueces y almendras para añadir
a sus ensaladas o postres.
• Para mejorar el rendimiento de las baterías recargables, le aconsejamos
que de vez en cuando, utilice el rallador hasta que las baterías estén
completamente descargadas. Después, vuelva a conectar la base de
carga a la toma de corriente y cargue el aparato durante 12–16 horas.
Para mejorar la capacidad de carga de las baterías, le aconsejamos que
haga esto cada 2–3 meses.

ADVERTENCIA
No sumerja la base de carga o el cuerpo del aparato en agua u otro líquido. No
utilice productos o materiales abrasivos para limpiar el aparato.
CARGA CONTINUA
Este aparato ha sido diseñado para poder mantenerse cargando. Le aconsejamos
que siempre deje la base de carga conectada a la toma de corriente; de esta
manera, su rallador siempre estará listo. La base de carga no consume mucha
electricidad y no notará una diferencia en su factura eléctrica.
Utilice el adaptador y la base de carga proveídos únicamente. No intente utilizar la
base de carga con otro producto. Tampoco intente cargar este producto con otra
base de carga.
MANTENIMIENTO DE LA CARGA
Las baterías mantienen la carga aunque el aparato no está enchufado y cargando,
perdiendo aproximadamente el 30% de la carga total por mes.
TIEMPO DE FUNCIONAMIENTO REDUCIDO
Si, después de usar el aparato repetidamente, el tiempo de funcionamiento parece
ser más corto y el rallador tiene menos potencia, desconecte la base de carga y
haga funcionar el rallador hasta que esté completamente descargado. Después,
vuelva a conectar la base de carga a la toma de corriente y cargue el aparato
durante 12–16 horas. Para mejorar la capacidad de carga de las baterías, le
aconsejamos que haga esto cada 2–3 meses.
INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
Cómo rallar, triturar y rebanar
NOTA: antes del primer uso, cerciórese de cargar el aparato durante por lo
menos 24 horas.
1. Asegúrese de que el aparato esté debidamente ensamblado, con la tolva
conectada a la unidad principal, y el empujador conectado al mango.
2. Introduzca el tambor deseado en la tolva. Véase la sección "Usos sugeridos"
en la página siguiente para más información.
3. Coloque la cubierta del tambor sobre el mismo para sujetarlo.
4. Abra el mango y coloque el alimento deseado en la tolva; cierre el mango.
Asegúrese de que el alimento no esté demasiado grande, o impedirá que el
mango cierre debidamente. Si esto ocurriera, el aparato no se pondrá en
marcha.
PRECAUCIÓN: Para evitar el riesgo de heridas y/o daños al aparato, mantenga los
dedos, cabello, ropa, espátulas y otros utensilios lejos de las piezas móviles durante
el funcionamiento. Nunca toque la tolva ni el tambor durante el funcionamiento.

ANTES DEL PRIMER USO
Coloque la caja sobre una superficie llana y segura y retire todas las piezas de la
caja, cerciorándose de quitar todas las etiquetas y retirar el material de embalaje.
Limpie la base de carga y el cuerpo del aparato con un paño limpio ligeramente
humedecido para eliminar el polvo y otros residuos acumulados durante la
fabricación y el transporte.
Lave los tambores, la cubierta del tambor, la tolva y el empujador en agua jabonosa
tibia, o en la bandeja superior del lavavajillas.
Enjuague y seque todas las piezas.
Lea cuidadosamente las instrucciones antes de usar el aparato.
INSTRUCCIONES DE ENSAMBLAJE
Una vez limpio, cerciórese de ensamblar el aparato debidamente.
1. Asegúrese de que todas las piezas estén
completamente secas antes de
ensamblar el aparato.
2. Introduzca la tolva en el lado izquierdo
de la cubierta de la tolva, alineando las
dos patas; encajará, haciendo un "clic".
3. Conecte el lado derecho de la cubierta
de la tolva, cerciorándose que encaje,
haciendo un "clic".
4. Instale la tolva ensamblada sobre la
unidad principal, introduciendo las patas
debajo de la tolva en las hendiduras en el
cuerpo.
5. Deslícela hacia abajo para sujetar.
6. Introduzca el tambor deseado adentro de la
tolva, cerciorándose que el lado abierto
apunte hacia afuera.
7. Deslice la cubierta del tambor sobre el
mismo.
8. Conecte el empujador al mango,
presionando firmemente hasta que encaje.
9. Su rallador multifunción está listo para
cargar.
INSTRUCCIONES DE CARGA
NOTA: las baterías vienen descargadas. Antes del primer uso, deberá cargar las
baterías durante 24 horas. Para asegurar un rendimiento óptimo, permita que las
baterías se descarguen completamente, y luego cargue el aparato 3 veces antes del
primer uso.
1. Asegúrese de que el aparato esté debidamente ensamblado.
2. Conecte el cable a la base de carga.
3. Coloque el rallador sobre la base de carga, cerciorándose que encaje
debidamente sobre ella.
4. Conecte el cable a una toma de corriente de 120V AC (60 Hz).
5. El indicador luminoso rojo se encenderá, lo que indica que el aparato está
cargando. Si la luz no se enciende, retire, y luego vuelva a posicionar el aparato
sobre la base de carga.
6. Si esto no soluciona el problema, averigüe que el cable está debidamente
conectado a la base de carga.

MEDIDAS DE SEGURIDAD
IMPORTANTES

que hubiese funcionado mal o que se hubiese caído o si estuviese dañado.
Regrese el aparato a un centro de servicio autorizado para su revisión,
reparación o ajuste.
8. El uso de accesorios no recomendados o proveídos por Cuisinart presenta un
riesgo de incendio, electrocución o herida.
9. Para uso doméstico solamente; no aprobado para uso comercial o industrial.
10. Este aparato está equipado con baterías recargables de níquel e hidruro
metálico (NiMH), las cuales deben reciclarse según las leyes vigentes al final de
su vida útil. (véase la sección "Reciclaje de las baterías") No queme ni coloque
las baterías en un compostador, ya que pueden explotar por el calor.
11. No queme el aparato, aunque esté muy dañado; las baterías pueden explotar al

14. Apague el aparato antes de instalar/remover piezas.
15. Evite el contacto con las piezas móviles. El rallador multiuso Cuisinart

diseñado con una abertura grande. Mantenga las manos y los dedos alejados
del tambor giratorio durante el funcionamiento.
16. Las cuchillas son muy filosas; manipular con sumo cuidado. Siempre sostenga
los tambores por las extremidades de plástico.
17. No lo utilice en exteriores. No utilice una extensión con este aparato. Conecte
el cargador directamente a una toma de corriente. Utilice el adaptador sector y
la base de carga proveídos únicamente. No intente utilizar la base de carga con
otro producto. Tampoco intente cargar este producto con otra base de carga.
18. No permita que el cable cuelgue del borde de la mesa o de la encimera. No
permita que el cable haga contacto con superficies calientes.
19. No haga funcionar el aparato bajo o adentro de un armario. Siempre
desconecte el aparato antes de guardarlo en un armario. Dejar el aparato
