Concrete flooring is best, but a wood floor is
sufficient, provided floor support meets FHA
standards. The washer should not be installed
on rugs or exposed to weather.

Closet doors must be louvered or otherwise
ventilated and have at least 60 square inches of
open area for washer only, or if the closet contains
both a washer and a dryer, door must contain at
least 120 square inches of open area equally
distributed. Air openings are required to be
unobstructed when a door is installed. A louvered
door with equivalent air openings for the full length
of the door is acceptable.
