Instructions for Weighing
Considerations to follow prior to test-weighing:
Diaper should not be changed between the “before
and “after” weights.
Baby should wear the same clothing for “beforeand
“afterweights.
Use a bib, but do NOT include it in “before” and “after”
weights.
To improve accuracy, bundle active infants and verify
that all blankets, clothing, and extremities are inside the
basket and not touching the side of the scale.
Record weights in grams only.*
