GE - General Electric GTDX180EDWW Questions and Answers

#1 I brought this dryer about 1 month ago. When drying my towels it seems to shut off after about 30 mins. With this being said when I clean my lint filter out it starts back up again. My question is, could this be a safety feature?

This model features Auto Dry which monitors the air temperature to set dry times. Automatic cycles automatically determine fabric dryness. Select Less Dry if you want your clothes slightly damp at the end of the drying cycle. Select More Dry if you want them to feel drier. See page 7 of the owner's manual. When the dryer is set to an automatic cycle, the timer will advance sporadically. The automatic thermostat control system continually senses the temperature of the air in the dryer drum. Wet laundry keeps this air cool. When the laundry is dry enough, the heat turns off.

We do recommend to clean the lint filter before each use.

For the best drying performance, the dryer needs to be properly vented. Use only rigid metal 4” diameter ductwork inside the dryer cabinet. Use only rigid metal or UL listed flexible metal 4” diameter ductwork for exhausting to the outside. Do not use plastic or other combustible ductwork. Use the shortest length possible.

#2 Does it have a wrinkle guard?

This dryer offers the 6 Cycles below.

~ Timed Dry - 80 Minutes
~ Quick Fluff (no heat) ~ Cottons Cycle ~ More Dry; Optimum Dry; Less Dry ~ Quick Fluff (no heat) ~Easy Care Cycle ~ Permanent Press; More Dry; Less Dry; Cool Down

#3 How long can the power cord be?

While we do not recommend ever using an extension cord with a dryer, we do not have particular specifications on the maximum length for the main power cord. The cords we carry for purchase through our Parts and Accessories Department are 4, 5, or 6 feet in length, but no greater. The primary concern will be whatever local codes dictate in your area. In fact, the reason we typically sell dryer cords separately is in order to ensure that the cord selected will comply with all state and local wiring codes. So you may want to check codes first before making a determination as to an appropriate length.

I hope this is helpful to you
