#1 What is the distance between the bars? Can it be used with a 5 foot bar?

Distance between the upright bar supports is 26". It would probably work with a 5' bar, but that wasn't its intention. Your arm spread may not be enough to get a good balance on the weight without a spotter.

#2 What type of weights does this come with?

Per the description, it comes with a weight bar with 2 25-pound and 2 15-pound weight plates.

#3 Does the back lay flat?

The bar that supports the back moves to 5 positions. I believe one of them is flat.
