Descaling
Regular descaling
prolongs the life of the appliance;
ensures that it functions properly;
avoids risk of injury, e.g. uncontrolled
pouring if filter is covered with limescale;
saves energy.
Descale the kettle with vinegar or a
commercially available descaling agent.
Fill the kettle up to the max mark with
water without vinegar or descaling agent
and bring to the boil.
Then add a small amount of white
vinegar to the hot water and let the kettle
stand for several hours. You can also
use a descaling agent according to the
manufacturer’s instructions (observe
safety instructions).
Then rinse the kettle and limescale filter
with clean water.
Attention: Never use hard objects to
remove limescale residue as this will
damage the seal.
Tip: If you use the kettle daily, descale
more frequently.
Troubleshooting
The appliance does not heat and the
temperature display does not light up.
The overheating protection has tripped.
Let the kettle cool down for a while so
that the appliance can be switched on
again.
Boiling is ended prematurely by the
appliance.
Build-up of limescale in the appliance.
Descale the appliance according to the
instructions.
For reasons of physics condensation may
form on the base. This is normal, and the
kettle is not leaking.
If the temperature is set to 100°C, boiling
will only stop once the water has reached
boiling point, i.e. it will bubble for a short
period of time beforehand.
After boiling, let the kettle cool down for
5 minutes before refilling.
Do not turn on the appliance if the kettle
is empty. Otherwise the overheating
protection will trip and the appliance will
switch off automatically.
Keep warm
During boiling and 1 minute afterwards the
keep warm function can be activated in
addition to the selection of any temperature
level.
To do so, touch the U (keep warm) button.
U will light up, and the function is activated.
To switch off, touch the U (keep warm)
button again. U will go out.
Attention: If you lift the kettle and replace
it within one minute, the kettle will continue
heating.
Info: The keep warm function automatically
switches off after 30 minutes, and a signal
sounds.
