This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully
into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt
to modify the plug in any way.
1. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce
the hazards resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
2. An extension cord may be purchased and used if
care is exercised in its use.
3. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical
rating of the extension cord must be at least 15

Before First Use
Always clean your kettle before first use
1. Wash the inside of the kettle, the plunger and lid with
mild detergent and water. Rinse each thoroughly. These
items are not dishwasher safe.
CAUTION: Do not immerse the kettle or power base in
water or any other liquid.
2. Do not use scouring pads, steel wool or any form of
strong solvents or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the
appliance, as they can damage the external surfaces of
the appliance.
3. Allow the appliance to dry fully after cleaning before using.
CAUTION: The appliance must not be used if the base
or the underside of the appliance is wet.
4. Your kettle is now ready for use!
How To Boil Water
1. To fill with water, remove the lid and pour
fresh water to below the “MAX” water level
mark, which is 1 liter. Do not exceed the
“MAX” water level mark indicated on the
kettle. (Figure 1)
2. Put the lid back on the kettle with ribbed
spout strainer lined up with spout. Lift the
plunger up and turn clockwise to have the
axle of the plunger clipped on the lid.
3. Position the power base on a flat, heat
resistant surface, as close as possible to a
power outlet.
4. Place the kettle on the base and plug the
electric cord into an electric outlet. (Figure 2)
5. Turn the switch ON by pressing the ON/OFF
button ( ). Once the temperature indicator
lights up make sure the light is marked on
195°F.
6. The water starts to heat and once the
water reaches boiling 212°F the indicator
begins to flash and the unit switches off.
Note: Once the water has cooled slightly,
the unit will turn on and off to maintain the
temperature at a constant 195°F. The unit
will automatically switch off after 25 minutes.

7. Hot water is ready to use!
How To Make Coffee
Selecting and Measuring Ground Coffee
For best results, use a level tablespoon for ground coffee
measurements.
Suggested Coffee Measurements chart
The taste of coffee is personal, but it is recommended to use
2 tablespoons per “cup” of water (average cup 5oz) use
more or less coffee grounds according to taste.
Tip: Grinding fresh coffee beans is an important step in
brewing a great cup of coffee. It is recommended that the
grind should be coarse than an auto drip, this minimizes
the amount of fine grinds in the bottom of your cup. Some
grinders have a “French Press” or “Percolator” setting to
indicate coarse grind. The proper grind should look similar to
bread crumbs.

the unit has shut off, carefully remove the lid
and add the desired amount of coarse grind
coffee. (Figure 4)
8. Then stir well into the water within 2
minutes of the time the power switch
and the red light go “OFF”. This ensures
that the extraction starts at the optimum
temperature of 195°F
9. Carefully place the lid back on the kettle
and turn clockwise to unclip the axle of the
plunger and push the plunger handle down
slightly so that the ground coffee is covered
by the water. Do not push down all the way.
10. Rich, full-bodied coffee flavor will be
extracted at the perfect temperature in 5
minutes. After extraction, slowly press the
plunger down into until it stops. (Figure 5)
11. The coffee is now ready to serve! (Figure 6)
Tip: If you do not plan to drink the coffee
within 20-30 minutes transfer and hold
the brewed coffee in a thermal carafe to
retain its flavor and temperature. Reheating
the coffee by any means can increase the
oxidation and result in flavor degradation or
possibly a mild burnt flavor.

can swell and begin the steeping process.

clockwise to unclip the axle of the plunger and push the
plunger handle down slightly so that the ground coffee is
covered by the water. Do not push down all the way.
10. The ideal steeping time is about 4 minutes
depending on the tea type. Follow the
recommendations of your tea provider. To
obtain a stronger tea use more tea but do
not extend the steeping time significantly
unless you prefer tea with an added tanning
(slightly bitter) taste. After extraction, slowly
press the plunger down into until it stops.
11.The tea is now ready to serve!
Tip:
Alternatively if you wish to hold the tea hot
for more than 20-30 minutes, consider transferring the tea
to a vacuum thermal carafe which will retain its heat and
flavor for several hours .
How to Use The Keep Warm Feature
The Electric French Press incorporates a keep-warm function,
which maintains the water at a pre-determined temperature
for 60 minutes. The keep warm feature is ideal for different
tea steeping, family breakfast and cooking. The keep warm
feature will not boil the water.
• To keep the water warm at a temperature below 195°F
you can choose to directly heat the cold water up to
the lower temperature of 112°F or 160°F. Select the
temperature of your preference by pressing the
ON/OFF button once or twice until the desired
temperature indicator is illumined.
• You can also choose to boil water first following the
directions above once the water reaches boiling wait
until the indicator begins to flash and then select the
temperature of your preference by pressing the
ON/OFF button once or twice until the desired
temperature indicator is illumined.
Note: For both options the unit will turn on and off
to maintain the temperature selected. The unit will
automatically switch off after 60 minutes.

How to Use The Keep Warm Feature
The Electric French Press incorporates a keep-warm function,
which maintains the water at a pre-determined temperature
for 60 minutes. The keep warm feature is ideal for different
tea steeping, family breakfast and cooking. The keep warm
feature will not boil the water.
• To keep the water warm at a temperature below 195°F
you can choose to directly heat the cold water up to
the lower temperature of 112°F or 160°F. Select the
temperature of your preference by pressing the
ON/OFF button once or twice until the desired

Siempre limpie el hervidor antes del primer uso
1. Lave el interior del hervidor, el émbolo y la tapa con un
detergente suave y agua. Enjuague cada uno a fondo.
Estos artículos no son aptos para el lavaplatos.
PRECAUCIÓN: No sumerja el hervidor ni la base en agua
o cualquier otro líquido.
2. No utilice esponjas o paños de alambre, ni solventes fuertes
o agentes de limpieza abrasivos para limpiar el aparato, ya

3. Deje que el aparato se seque completamente después de

Cómo Hervir Agua
1. Para llenar el hervidor con agua, retire la
tapa y vierta agua fresca hasta por debajo
de la marca de nivel de agua “MAX”, que
es un litro. No exceda la marca del nivel
de agua “MAX” indicado en el hervidor de
agua. (Figura 1)
2. Vuelva a colocar la tapa y levante el émbolo
hacia arriba y gire hacia la derecha para
que el eje del émbolo calce y se sujete a la
parte interior de la tapa.
3. Coloque la base en una superficie plana,
resistente al calor, lo más cerca posible a
un tomacorriente.
4. Coloque la prensa francesa en la base y
enchufe la unidad insertando el enchufe en
el tomacorriente. (Figura 2)

Antes del Primer Uso
Siempre limpie el hervidor antes del primer uso
1. Lave el interior del hervidor, el émbolo y la tapa con un
detergente suave y agua. Enjuague cada uno a fondo.
Estos artículos no son aptos para el lavaplatos.
PRECAUCIÓN: No sumerja el hervidor ni la base en agua
o cualquier otro líquido.
2. No utilice esponjas o paños de alambre, ni solventes fuertes
o agentes de limpieza abrasivos para limpiar el aparato, ya

3. Deje que el aparato se seque completamente después de
la limpieza y antes de usar.

Cómo Hervir Agua
1. Para llenar el hervidor con agua, retire la
tapa y vierta agua fresca hasta por debajo
de la marca de nivel de agua “MAX”, que
es un litro. No exceda la marca del nivel
de agua “MAX” indicado en el hervidor de

2. Vuelva a colocar la tapa y levante el émbolo
hacia arriba y gire hacia la derecha para
que el eje del émbolo calce y se sujete a la
parte interior de la tapa.
3. Coloque la base en una superficie plana,
resistente al calor, lo más cerca posible a
un tomacorriente.
4. Coloque la prensa francesa en la base y
enchufe la unidad insertando el enchufe en

durante 60 minutos. La función de Mantener Caliente es ideal
para preparar diferentes tipos de té, desayunos familiares y para
cocinar. La función de Mantener Caliente no hervirá el agua.
• Si desea mantener el agua caliente a una temperatura por
debajo de 195°F se puede elegir calentar directamente
el agua fría a una temperatura más baja de 112°F o
160°F pulsando el botón de encendido / pagado una o
más veces hasta que se encienda luz en la temperatura
seleccionada.
• También puede elegir hervir el agua primero siguiendo los
pasos explicados en la sección anterior y una vez que el
agua haya hervido el indicador de temperatura comienza a
destellar, pulse una o más veces hasta que se encienda luz

ebullición en seco automáticamente lo apagará. El aparato se
puede conectar normalmente tan pronto como se llene con
una cantidad suficiente de agua.
Instrucciones de Cuidado y Limpieza
Limpieza del Hervidor
1. Los depósitos minerales en el agua de grifo pueden
causar depósitos de cal en el interior del hervidor de
agua después de un uso frecuente. Para eliminar esta
acumulación de sarro, llene el hervidor con una solución
de 3 tazas de vinagre blanco y 3 tazas de agua. Deje
