#1 does this dryer reverse for the same amount of time as it turns forward?

I don't believe so, no. I think it's one of those models where they only reverse briefly to hopefully untangle your sheets, and then resumes in the usual direction.

#2 Since most of comments are relating to sheets not drying, I want to know if extra dry function helps in getting the sheets dry?

You have to use the sheets mode. When I first got it, I forgot to put it on sheets mode and they would get all twisted. But once on sheets mode they dry perfectly fine.

#3 Can you plumb the waste in so the water is automatically emptied?

Yes. You have the option for it to drain into its own reservoir or there is a small hose that can link it to a drain.
