Product Mounting
This model use Waste King snap and lock mounting system. It replaces existing disposal that use
the 3-bolt system.
When you replace an old sink disposal with 3-bolt system, you can:
Use back the existing sink flange and mounting bracket - most easy to do, since you only
remove the old unit and install the new model.
Keep the existing sink flange - you may want to keep the sink flange due to
color/material matching or for other reasons. In this case, dismount both the old disposer
and mounting bracket. Then proceed to install the new mounting system plus new Waste
King disposal.
The last option is remove everything and replace with new ones.
The installation is simple with minimal work. The instruction manual is well written with
diagrams to guide you. Make sure you read and understand the installation guide beforehand and
proceed accordingly.
The unit comes with the power cord attached. Plug it into an outlet under the kitchen sink and
you can use it immediately. If you want to hard-wire the unit, remove the plug and cord.
This unit is huge and heavy. You need someone to help you lift it up and do some alignment

Moen A1SPC Questions and Answers

#1 Can this be used in a house with a septic system?

You can use this with a septic system but it may not be your best choice. With any garbage disposal using it will increase your need to service your tank. They do make disposals that add an enzyme every time you use it to help the waste decompose.

#2 Can this disposal be attached to a counter top button switch to activate it?

It comes with a standard three-prong plug. If you're counter switch controls an outlet, then this would work without modification. If you need to directly wire the disposal to the switch, then you would need to change the cord.

#3 Does this come with a stainless sink flange for inside the sink to connect to the disposer?

Stainless, other Waste Kings do use a plastic/resin flange. This one also has a nice chrome stopper unlike the standard black plastic ones.

#4 Can this disposal be attached to an 36" double undermount sink?

The main limitation is the depth of the cabinet below the sink. You need at least 18 inches from the sink to the cabinet floor for adequate room. Mine is connected to an undermouted sink and works great.

#5 Do I need a 3 bolt mounting system & power switch to fully mount this unit?

The disposer comes supplied with a mounting system.
You will need to provide a power switch for your installation.

#6 Can you use an air switch with this unit?

I Googled uses for air switch and a response came up for using one on a garbage disposal. The use of an air switch can eliminate potential for getting a electrical shock if you touched it with a wet hand. Recommend you Google and it also gives you suggestions for installing the air switch to the garbage disposal.

#7 How much alcohol does this shaker hold?

That's Funny. Perhaps if you were pouring it in the drain, down into this garbage disposal it can hold as much as you pour

#8 What is the purpose for this machine exactly and where should it be installed?

Yes, this unit was installed in our kitchen as an independent unit. Disposal had a whine when we first installed. Unit has since quieted down and very happy with the disposal.
