Mr. Coffee ECMP50-RB Questions and Answers

#1 Do i need to buy a frothing pitcher or tamper? or does it come with them?

It comes with plastic tamper but I'd recommend buying a stainless steel one. Also it does not come with frothing pitcher so you'll have to buy one.

#2 Does it stop by it self after your cup is full or do you need to manually turn it off?

If you put in enough for water for one cup. It stops at one cup. Then you turn it off.

#3 Would the top of the machine store, and warm my cups?

The top of the machine will not warm your cups. There is a small tray on the top, though. It's where I keep the filter cups, tamp, and espresso "shot" glasses.

#4 How does this machine make cappucino?

Cappuccino is espresso topped with steamed and frothed milk. This brewer does have a frothing tube so that you can froth the milk to make a delicious cappuccino.

#5 Is this a pump or steam machine?

Thetis is a pump machine, not a steam one.

#6 How easy is this to use for someone who has never owned/used an espresso machine before?

This is my first espresso machine. And I love it. Easy to you once you get the hang out it. Take alil bit to warm up. But make sure you have everything set up to us. It works amazing had mines for about 3 months. I use it pretty much every day whether it's for a latte to to steam water for tea. Love my machine!

#7 Can i use pods for these? Or i have to use the beans or the grated one?

My understanding is that pods can be used, but I'm old school (and cheap!) so I use ground beans and a tamper.
