Reheating toasted bread
The toaster has an automatic reheat function that reheats toast without making it
browner.
1 Put the toasted bread back into the toaster.
2 Push down the toasting lever.
3 Press the reheat button (Fig. 8).
The reheat button lights up.
Note: When you use the reheat function, you cannot change the browning setting.
Warming up rolls and croissants
1 Push down the warming rack lever to unfold the warming rack (Fig. 9).
Never put the items to be heated up directly on top of the toaster. Always put

service’).
Problem Solution
The toaster does
not work.
Make sure the plug is properly inserted into the wall socket.
If the toaster still does not work, take it to a service centre
authorised by Philips for examination.
Bread gets stuck in
the appliance.
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Carefully remove
the slice or slices from the toaster.Take care not to damage
the heating elements while you remove the slice or slices of
bread. Never use a metal object for this purpose.
The toast is too
dark/too light.
You have selected a too high or too low browning setting.
Select a lower setting next time if your toast is too dark and
a higher setting if your toast is too light.
Smoke comes out
of the toaster.
You have selected a too high browning setting for the type
of bread inserted. Press the stop button to stop the toasting
process.
The mains cord is
damaged.
If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, you
must always have it replaced by Philips, a service centre
authorised by Philips or similarly qualied persons in order
to avoid a hazard.
I cannot change the
browning setting
when I use the
warming function.
This is normal, because the toaster has a xed temperature
setting for warming up rolls and croissants, which guarantees
a perfect end result.

Problem Solution
Only one side of
my roll or croissant
is warm.
Turn your roll or croissant over and warm it up again. Follow
the instructions in section ‘Warming up rolls and croissants’.
I cannot change
the browning
setting when I use
the reheat function.
This is normal, because the toaster has an automatic reheat
function that reheats toast without making it browner.
However, if you reheat the toasted bread right after it has
popped up, it will become slightly browner.
The bread pops up
almost immediately
without having
been toasted.
Make sure you push the toasting lever down all the way. If
the bread still does not stay down, take the appliance to a
service centre authorised by Philips for examination.
