Ironing without ironing board
When travelling, you will often not have an ironing board at hand. In this
case spread a doubled terry towel on a firm flat surface.
Ensure that the surface is heat and moisture resistant. Do not use a
glass or plastic surface.
Filling with water (for “Shot of Steam”)
Please fill this iron with normal tap water before using for the first time.
For refilling, you can also use tapwater. However, if the water is very
hard (hardness higher than 17° DH), it is advisable to use distilled
water.
- Remove the mains plug from the wall socket before filling the iron.
- Flip open the filling cap (fig. 3). Leave the cap hanging on the handgrip
by its retainer.
- Pull up the handgrip (fig. 4).
- Pour no more than 50 ml of water into the filling opening (fig. 5). Use
the provided filling cup for this purpose.
- Replace the filling cap (fig. 6).
Ironing temperature - general information -
Always check first if a label with ironing instructions is attached to
the article to be ironed. (See table.)
Follow these ironing instructions in all cases.
If ironing instructions are missing but you know the kind of fabric, then
see the table for recommended ironing temperatures.
The table is valid for the fibre materials only.
If some kind of finish has been applied (gloss, wrinkle, relief etc.), the
textile can best be ironed at a lower temperature.
First sort out the fabrics according to ironing temperature: wool with
wool, cotton with cotton, etc.
The iron heats up quicker than it cools down. Therefore, start ironing
the articles requiring the lowest temperature such as those made of
synthetic fibres. Then progress to the higher temperatures. Finish by
ironing cotton and linen.
