OPERATION
SMART ENGINE START ENGINE STARTING PROCEDURE (Continued)
NOTES:
• If the engine is left running after being started, it automatically stops after a
set time. This setting can be changed by your dealer. Refer to “AUTOMATIC
ENGINE SHUTDOWN” on page 5.
The engine can be restarted by repeating Step 1 to Step 3. However, the engine
cannot be restarted if the total run-time exceeds 20 minutes.
Example: When the engine is stopped after 15 minutes
Engine stopped
Engine run-time (total 20 minutes)
Engine running (1st time)
Engine running (2nd time)
15 minutes 5 minutes
NOTE: The total run-time can be reset by opening and closing one of the doors
(including the rear gate).
• The power windows cannot be operated while the engine is running.
• The horn may not be audible depending on the conditions in the area around
the vehicle.
• If the area around the vehicle is bright (daylight, snowy conditions, etc.), it may
not be possible to confirm the status of the hazard lights, marker lights and tail
lights.
