#1 Does this reduce water hardness?

I purchased this filter mainly for my wife who was experiencing dry skin after a shower.
Not only has she noticed her skin feels more soft and supple, she has noticed an improvement in the condition of her hair.
When showering, we have both noticed the water doesn't have the usual chemical odour.
We are please with the filtration, the design, the ease of fitting and that the water pressure seems unaffected.

#2 My bath tap mixer shower hole faces up rather then down, it is there an adapter that could make this fit?

The fixtures are standard sizes so I think you should be able to get an adapter for both ends
