Allavino VSWR56-1SSLN Questions and Answers

#1 Which would you recommend - a left hinge or right hinge version - to fit in a 24" space with a wall on the left and a built-in cabinet on the right?

It depends on how much clearance you have between the wine fridge and the wall on the left. If it will be flush against the wall, then you need to go with a right-hinge model. The reason is you need enough clearance for the door to open at least 90 degrees. This will allow the wine bottle trays to fully extend outward to take advantage of the back rows. The door has a handle that extends outward about 1 ¾ inches. So if you have at least a 2-inch clearance on the left, you can get away with a left-hinge model. I have a wall on the left but I have a 3 ½-inch clearance from the wall, so I have no issue fully extending the wine trays. If you are uncertain about your clearance on the left, then play it safe with a right-hinge model.

#2 What is the front to back depth of the shelves? Trying to confirm ability to overlap shoulders of my existing bottles like picture shows.

The shelves will hold bottles end to end without a problem. We store different shapes (cab, pinot) together so they fit better.

#3 Are the interior sidewalks of this fridge metal or plastic?

I used a magnet to try and answer your question. The interior top wall is definitely metal, the interior sideways seem to be just like metal, but in using a magnet they don't have magnetic properties so my guess is the interior sidewalls are plastic. The unit has performed very well, I highly recommend it.
