Bosch DWK67CM60B Questions and Answers

#1 Can this hood be vented directly through the rear of the unit or does it have to go up and out via a chimney attachment? Due to angled ceiling we have limited room for chimney. Diagram suggests not so any other rear venting hoods?

If you are ducting outside you will require the chimney for the ducting, however if you would prefer not to have the chimney you can recirculate with a recirculating kit. Codes for these are on page 9 of the manual attached.

#2 Does this hood offer an intermediate position of the front glass? If not can you recommend one of your similar products that does

This model does not have an intermediate position however model DWK97JQ60B does.

#3 Do you have to pull the outer glass front out to allow steam etc from the hob to be extracted, I cannot find anything in the instruction manual or on your website to advise me.

The outer glass does not need to be opened for the appliance to work.
On some appliances, the glass front can be adjusted to an intermediate position. The intermediate position can be used for eliminating particularly strong cooking smells and large amounts of steam. Take hold of the glass front in the centre and open it carefully.

#4 We have this hoods installed and i think it is too nosey, but i am not sure if the noise level is normal or if there are some faults. Could someone tell us how to find out about this.

The decibel ratings for this machine are:
- Noise level with boost position (dB(A) re 1 pW) - 67 dB(A) re 1pW
- Sound power at max. speed - 58 dB
For examples of what these decibels sound like:
- 50 dB: Light traffic / moderate rainfall - These are rated as quiet
- 60 dB: Electric toothbrush. - Rated as a possible intrusive sound
- 70 dB: Shower. - Can cause difficulty in hearing speech.

If the level of sound differs to this there may be an issue. The filters may need cleaned or if you are ducting outside the ducting may be too long/ have too many bends.
