SERVICING
For any repairs use only the Service Centres recommended by the manufacturer and insi-
st that only original spares be used.
Non-observance of the above could prejudice the safety of the appliance.
If your refrigerator does not work, or if it does not work properly, check these points befo-
re making a Service call.
FAULT CAUSE REMEDY
a) Compressor not - Plug not inserted - Insert the plug
functioning - Plug wire loose - Check the plug
- No electricity - Wait for the supply to be
returned
b) Compressor functioning - Various - Call in the refrigeration
but not refrigerating engineer
c) Compressor functioning - Various - Call in the refrigeration
for short periods engineer
d) Compressor working for - Ambient temperature - Turn the thermostat knob
long periods, or all the too warm anticlockwise
time - Thermostat at maximum
setting
e) Freezer compartment not - Excessive use of freezer - Follow the manufacturer's
sufficiently cold compartment recommendations
- Ambient temperature too - Functionong is guaranteed
low or too high when the ambient
temperature is between +10°
and + 38÷43°C
- Other reasons - Call in the refrigeration
engineer

for manufacturers service, giving the model type which you will you find on the rating
plate inside the refrigerator (or on the warranty from). You will get prompter and better
service by giving this information.
After connecting the appliance to the mains, the refrigerator might not function even thou-
gh the green light (1) on the facia is on (see fig.2). This mean the appliance is defrosting.
Resume normal operation when defrosting is completed.
REVERSING THE OPENING OF THE DOORS (see fig. 3)
To reverse the appliance doors, please contact GIAS SERVICE (tel. 08705 990011) to
arrange an appointment with an engineer, who will provide this service for a nominal
charge.
1) It is advisable to lean the refrigerator at an angle of about 45°, since it is necessary to
work on the bottom of the appliance in order to remove the lower hinge.
2) Remove the plinth, if fitted.
