Klipsch The Sixes Questions and Answers

#1 Would you buy the sixes or a pair of heresy iiis for a medium to large bedroom? are these loud and are the heresy iiis overkill for a bedroom?

Considering you'd have to buy separate components to power the Heresy's the sixes are a deal simply because of plug and play.

#2 Do you have to make manual adjustments when connecting a sub woofer, or just plug in and play like on the fives?

Might have to make sure the low pass on the subwoofer is set to highest number to allow The Fives controlled low pass to receive all frequencies within that range and set the subwoofers gain to a level you like. Not much more that speaker placement beyond that.

#3 How do they do as PC speakers?

These speakers will sound great but you should be aware that they are not small. If you are planning on having these on the desk next to your screen, realize that they are about 8"W X 10"L X 17" H. Additionally, these speakers perform better when they are placed several feet away from you. Otherwise you will have a strong base and and highs will not sound as sharp. I personally feel the lows are a bit too prominent on these speakers so I equalize the audio prior to sending it to the speakers. I play all my music via my PC and can't complain about the performance of these speakers. Hope this answers your question.

#4 Does the usb input work with the nvidia shield? can the volume be controlled from the shield remote?

The speakers have both a volume knob and a remote that controls volume so you should be able to control the volume from the shield.

#5 How do i connect a subwoofer to sixes? What cable do i need?

All you need is a sub cable. Amazon sells one for like 8 or 9 dollars. That’s all you need. There is a Klipsch sub at Bestbuy going for like 180 and that’s a 10 inch and they have a 12 inch for like 250. I have the 12 inch and it’s super loud. All i did was plug the sub to an outlet and connect it to the Sixes with a sub cable on the plug that was LFE.

#6 Can I plug my electric guitar into these and use them as monitors?

I would only use these as a computer monitor for play back of recordings, you could go direct in but get an amp for live playing over these, Orange makes a really nice 35 kicker for like 250

#7 Do the 2 speakers have to be connected by a cable? Also how far apart can they be?

Cable provided and it screws on to both speakers for a solid connection, speaker cable is around 15 feet long. Love theses speakers and no sub needed!

#8 Perhaps this is a ridiculous question. Has anyone compared these to the edifier s1000db?

I have used both Edifier S1000DB and The Sixes. The Sixes are much better in every aspect. Edifier has terrible sound quality compared to Klipsch. The Sixes look beautiful. S1000DB has control knobs in the back, and terrible design overall, volume knob and input select knob is the same and you have to look in the front LED to see which input is selected. If anyone thinks Edifier is better, I suspect they may be paid by the Chinese government
