FIRST USE
The first time you use your new coffee maker, run the appliance
once with 1 litre of water but no coffee, to flush the water circuit.
MAKING COFFEE (as shown in illustrations 1 - 4)
Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
Only use cold water and No. 4 filter paper.Do not use the jug without
its lid.
Do not exceed the maximum water level shown on the tank's water
level gauge.
Close the lid (a) while the coffee maker is operating.
This coffee maker is fitted with a drip-stop device, allowing you to
serve coffee before the water has finished percolating.Replace the
jug quickly to avoid any overflow.
You can reheat coffee by placing the jug (depending on model) in the
microwave.
On models equipped with a permanent filter:O
Place ground coffee directly into the permanent filter.
Dispose of the coffee grounds after use and rinse the filter under the
tap.
Some models are equipped with a jug with a Thermocontrol
indicator:
This device indicates whether the coffee inside the jug is at a
suitable temperature for drinking.
This is shown by an indicator located on the jug's protective collar.
If the indicator is red, the coffee in the jug is at a suitable
temperature for drinking.
If the indicator is black, the coffee in the jug is too cold.
Some models are supplied with an insulated flask:
To keep your coffee warm for longer, rinse the insulated flask with
hot water before use.
Always screw down the lid fully (by turning it clockwise) when
making coffee and keeping it warm.
To serve the coffee, unscrew the lid a quarter-turn.
PROGRAMMING YOUR COFFEE MAKER (depending on model)
When you switch the coffee maker on, the time display flashes and
reads ; the cup and clock symbols are on steady.
Setting the clock or changing the current time:
Press and hold (>2 seconds) the button.The clock symbol and
the time display start flashing.
Set the hours by pressing the button repeatedly, or hold it down
to cycle continuously through the hours.
Press the button once.The minutes display starts flashing.
Set the minutes by pressing the button repeatedly, or hold it down
to cycle continuously through the minutes.
Confirm the time: Press the button once. The clock symbol
disappears (if you do not confirm by pressing this button within
30 seconds, the appliance cancels the changes and reverts to the
existing time).
Manual operation (Start/Stop):
Press the START button once;the LED (l) lights up.
Press the STOP button once;the LED (l) goes out.
Operating the coffee maker manually cancels any automatic start
that may have been programmed.
Programming the coffee maker to start automatically (not possible
until the clock has been set):
Press the button once. The cup and the hours display starts
flashing.
Set the hours by pressing the button repeatedly, or hold it down
to cycle continuously through the hours.
Press the button once.The minutes display starts flashing.
