It's Thermal, No ink. But beware that the lables need to be fan fold type of you need to buy a holder from Manufacture to hold the rolls. I recommend the DYMO 4XL. I switched to the Dymo and been very happy. The rolls fit into the machine.

The Rollo printer only prints out labels in a black color but can definitely print on a colored direct thermal label. And yes, the rollo printer can print on a circular label in a 2 inches size.

The rollo printer supports any label so as long as it meets the standard measurements which is with the width of at least 1.57 "(4cm) to a maximum of 4.1" (10.4cm) with no height limit.
