The indicator light indicatesthattheproductisoff,evenifit is

Energy Saving function
TheEnergySavingfunctioncanbeactivatedtooptimiseenergycon-
sumptionwhilemaintainingthecoolingperformanceoftheproduct.
This function maximises the amount of energy saved. Under these
conditions, the display remains off even when the door is opened.
Thefunctionisactivatedbypressingandholdingthesuperfreezer
andFRZ(+)buttonssimultaneouslyforatleast6seconds.Oncethe
functionhasbeenactivated,allLEDswilllight up for 2 secondsto
confirmactivation,andthetemperaturesettingof+5,-18willappear
onthedisplay.Thedisplayswitchesoffafter5seconds.Tochange
thetemperature,simplypressthe+and–buttonsuntilyouhaverea-
chedthedesiredtemperature.
However, the Energy Saving function can also be disabled by
switchingtheproductoffusingtheON/OFFbutton.Whenitisswitched
backon,theEnergySavingwillbedisabled.

Installation
!Beforeplacingyournewapplianceintooperationpleaseread
these operating instructions carefully. They containimportant
informationfor safeuse, forinstallation and for care of the
appliance.

Positioning and connection
Positioning
1.Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.
2.Donot obstruct the rear fan grills. Thecompressor and
condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationtooperate
correctly and save energy.
3.Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat(direct
sunlight,electricstove,etc.).
Electrical connections
Afterthe appliancehas beentransported, carefullyplace it
vertically and wait at least 3 hours before connecting it to the
electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectricalsocket
ensure the following:
• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththelaw.
• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpoweroftheappliance,
whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleft
sideofthefridge(e.g.150W).
• Thevoltagemustbeintherangebetweenthevaluesindicated
onthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleftside(e.g.220-
240V).
• Thesocket iscompatible with the plug of the appliance.If
thesocketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorised
techniciantoreplaceit(see Assistance).Donotuseextension
cordsormultiplesockets.
!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupplycable
and the electrical socket must be easily accessible.
!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.
!Thecablemustbecheckedregularlyandreplacedbyauthorised
technicians only (see Assistance).
! The manufacturer declines any liability should these safety
measures not be observed.
Start-up and use
Starting the appliance
! Beforestartingtheappliance,followtheinstallationinstructions
(seeInstallation).
!Beforeconnectingtheappliance,cleanthecompartmentsand
accessories well with lukewarm water and bicarbonate.
! Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrolsystem
whichmakes thecompressor startapproximately 8 minutes
afterbeingswitchedon.Thecompressoralsostartseachtime
thepower supply is cut off whether voluntarilyor involuntarily
(blackout).
Freezer Compartment
When the product is switched onthe freezercompartment is
settoitsdefaultvalueof-18°C.WerecommendthattheSUPER
FREEZEfunctionisset(thefreezerstatusbarcontinuestodisplay
thesetvalue)inordertoacceleratethecoolingprocessofthe
compartment;whentheinsideofthecompartmenthasreached
itsoptimaltemperaturethefunctionwillbedeactivatedandthe
foodmaybeplacedinside.
Refrigerator Compartment
Whentheapplianceisswitchedontherefrigeratorcompartment
issettoitsdefaultvalueof+5°C.WerecommendthattheSUPER
COOLfunction is set (the refrigerator status bar continues to
displaythesetvalue)inordertoacceleratethecoolingprocess
ofthecompartment.Afterafewhoursitwillbecoolenoughfor
foodtobeplacedinside.
Navigating the display
Setting the temperatures:
Ifthe product is switched on, the refrigerator and freezer
compartmentdisplayswillindicatethetemperaturevaluessetat
thatmoment.Tochangethem,simplypressthe- and + buttons
correspondingtothecompartmentforwhichyouwishtochange
thesettemperature.Morespecifically,eachtimethebuttonsare
pressed,thetemperatureincreasesordecreasesandthelevelof
coldgeneratedinsidethecompartmentisadjustedaccordingly.
Thetemperaturevaluesthatmaybeselectedfortherefrigerator
compartmentare+8°C,+7°C,+6°C,+5°C,+4°C,+3°Cand+2°C,
whilethevaluesthatmaybesetforthefreezerare-18°C,-19°C,
-20°C,-21°C,-22°C,-24°Cand-26°C.
WhentheHOLIDAY functionisactivethetemperaturemaynot
beadjusted,howevertheapplianceadjustsitselfautomaticallyso
thattheoptimalsettingsforthesituationareused:+12°C for the
refrigeratorcompartmentand-18°Cforthefreezercompartment.
The activation of this function is indicated by the HOLIDAY LED
lightingup.
Toactivateanddeactivatethefunctions,simplypresstherelevant
button;thefunctionstatuswillbesignalledbythecorresponding
LEDonthekeypadswitchingonoroff.
Severalofthefunctions(SUPER COOL, SUPER FREEZE) are
incompatiblewithothers(HOLIDAY,...);rememberthatthereis
apre-establishedorderofprioritywhichwillhelpyoutooperate
theproductinthebestpossibleway.
AIR *
Itisrecognizableduetothepresenceofthemechanismonthe
toppartoftherefrigeratorcompartment(seediagram).

AIR maximisesaircirculation,improvingtheefficiencyofthe
evaporatorandhelpingtoachievetheoptimaltemperatureinside
therefrigerator asquickly as possible each time it hasbeen
opened.Theblownair(A)iscooledwhenitcomesintocontact
withthecoldwall,whereasthehotterair(B)issuckedup(see
diagram).
ACTIVE OXYGEN *
Thisdevice releases ozone molecules inside the refrigerator;
ozone is a natural substance which combats bacteria and
microorganisms,reducing theirproliferation while limiting
unpleasantodours.
Automaticallydefinestheamountofozonerequiredforprolonging
thefreshnessof foodstuffs, eliminatingodoursandpreventing
bacteriabuild-up.
There may be a slight distinctive odour inside the refrigerator.
Theverysamesmellcansometimesbedetectedduringastorm,

duetotheozoneproducedasthechargeinthelightningbolts
isreleased;thisiscompletelynormal.Theamountproducedby
thedeviceisverysmallandabatesquicklyastheantibacterial
actiontakesplace.
Deviceisactivatedpressingthededicatedswitchlocatedinright
sideoftheOxigendevice.
Withthe ActiveOxigen switched on, the device will operate
arepeted cycleuntil the key is pressed again. There will be
anOzone emissionnoticed bythe switchingon ofthe green
ledlocated on the Active Oxigen device located in the fridge
compartmentandastand-bycicle(withoutzoneemission)noticed
by blue light.
Using the refrigerator to its full potential
•Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.
•ActivatetheSUPERCOOLfunctiontolowerthetemperature
quickly,forexample,whenyouplacealargenumberofnewfood
itemsinsideafridgeandtheinternaltemperaturerisesslightly.
Thisfunctionquicklycoolsthegroceriesbytemporarilyreducing
thetemperatureuntilitreachestheideallevel.
•Placeonlycoldorlukewarmfoodsinthecompartment,never
hotfoods(seePrecautionsandtips).
•Rememberthatcookedfoodsdonotlastlongerthanrawfoods.
•Donotstoreliquidsinopencontainers:theywillincreasethelevel
of humidity in the refrigerator and cause condensation to form.
SHELVES: with or without grill.
Dueto the specialguides theshelves are removableand the
heightisadjustable(seediagram),allowingeasystorageoflarge
containersandfood.Heightcanbeadjustedwithoutcomplete
removal of the shelf.
FOOD CARE ZONE *
Areadedicatedtothestorageoffreshfood,suchasmeatand
fish.Thankstothelowtemperatureinsidethecompartment,the
FoodCareZoneextendstheperiodoftimeforwhichthefood
canbestored,keepingitfreshforuptoaweek.
FRESH BOX *
Thisisthenewcontainer,designedtokeepvariousfoods(such
ascheeseandcoldmeats)fresherforlonger.Ifitisnotneeded,it
caneasilyberemovedfromtherefrigeratorcompartment.Ifthere
isaBottleShelf,moreinternalspacecanbecreatedbyplacing
theFreshBoxdirectlyinsideit.
TEMPERATURE Indicatorlight
*: to identify the coldest area in
the refrigerator.
1. Check that OK appears clearly on the indicator light (see
diagram).
2. Iftheword“OK”doesnotappearitmeansthatthetemperature
istoohigh:adjusttheREFRIGERATOROPERATIONknobtoa
higherposition(colder)andwaitapproximately10hoursuntil
thetemperaturehasbeenstabilised.
3. Checktheindicatorlightagain:ifnecessary,readjustitfollowing
theinitialprocess.Iflargequantitiesoffoodhavebeenadded
orif the refrigeratordoor hasbeen opened frequently,it is
normalfortheindicatornottoshowOK.Waitatleast10hours
beforeadjustingtheREFRIGERATOROPERATIONknobtoa
higher setting.
LED
*
Thankstothepowerfullightitemits,thenewLEDlightingsystem
offersaclearviewofallfoods,withnoshadowyareas.IftheLED
needstobereplaced,pleasecontacttheTechnicalAssistance
Service.
Using the freezer to its full potential
•Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.
•Freshfoodthatneedstobefrozenmustnotcomeintocontact
withfoodthathasalreadybeendefrosted.Freshfoodmustbe
storedinthetopFREEZERandSTORAGEcompartmentwhere
the temperature drops below-18°C and guarantees rapid
freezing.
•Tofreezefreshfoodinthebestandsafestwaypossible,activate
theSUPERFREEZEfunction24hoursbeforeplacingthefood
inthefreezer.Afterplacingthefoodinside,activatetheSUPER
FREEZEfunctionagain;itwillbedeactivatedautomaticallyafter
24hours.
•Donotre-freezefoodthatisdefrostingorthathasalready
been defrosted. These foods must be cooked and eaten (within
24hours).
•Donotplaceglassbottleswhichcontainliquids,andwhich
are corked or hermetically sealed in the freezer because they
could break.
•Themaximumquantityoffoodthatmaybefrozendailyis
indicatedontheplatecontainingthetechnicalpropertieslocated
onthebottomleftsideoftherefrigeratorcompartment(for
example:Kg/24h:4).
!Donotopenthedoorduringfreezing.
!Ifthereisapowercutormalfunction,donotopenthefreezer
door.Thiswillhelpmaintainthetemperatureinsidethefreezer,
ensuringthatfoodsareconservedforatleast9-14hours.
!To maximisespace insidethe freezer,all drawers can be
removedfromtheirpositionsandthefoodplaceddirectlyonthe
racks/glassshelvessupplied[wherepresent].

Maintenance and care
Switching the appliance off
Duringcleaningandmaintenanceitisnecessarytodisconnect
theappliancefromtheelectricitysupply:
1.PresstheON/OFFbuttontoswitchofftheappliance.
2.Pulltheplugoutofthesocket.
!Ifthisprocedureisnotfollowed,thealarmmaysound.Thisalarm
doesnot indicatea malfunction.To restorenormal operation,
holdtheON/OFF button downformorethan two seconds.To
disconnecttheappliance,followpoints1and2above.
Cleaning the appliance
• Theexternalandinternalparts,aswellastherubbersealsmay
becleanedusingaspongethathasbeensoakedinlukewarm
waterandbicarbonateofsodaorneutralsoap.Donotuse
solvents,abrasiveproducts,bleachorammonia.
• Theremovableaccessoriesmaybesoakedinwarmwaterand
soapordishwashingliquid.Rinseanddrythemcarefully.
• Theback of the appliance may collect dustwhich canbe
removed by delicately using the hose of a vacuum cleaner set
onmediumpower.Theappliancemustbeswitchedoffand
theplugmustbepulledoutbeforecleaningtheappliance.
Avoiding mould and unpleasant odours
• Theapplianceismanufacturedwithhygienicmaterialswhich
areodourfree.Inordertomaintainanodourfreerefrigerator
andtopreventtheformationofstains,foodmustalwaysbe
coveredorsealedproperly.
• Ifyouwanttoswitchtheapplianceoffforanextendedperiod
oftime,cleantheinsideandleavethedoorsopen.
Defrosting the refrigerator compartment
The refrigerator has an automatic defrosting function: water is
ductedtothebackoftheappliancebyaspecialdischargeoutlet
(seediagram)wheretheheatproducedbythecompressorcauses
ittoevaporate.Itisnecessarytocleanthedischargeholeregularly
so that the water can flow out easily.
Replacing the light bulb *
Toreplacethelightbulbintherefrigeratorcompartment,pullout
theplugfromtheelectricalsocket.Followtheinstructionsbelow.
Access the light bulb by removing the cover as indicated in the
diagram.Replaceitwithasimilarlightbulbwithinthepowerrange
indicated on the cover.
Precautions and tips
!Theappliancewasdesignedandmanufacturedincompliance
with international safety standards. The following warnings are
providedforsafetyreasonsandmustbereadcarefully.

General safety
• Theappliancewasdesignedfordomesticuseinsidethehome
and is not intended for commercial or industrial use.
• Theappliancemustbeusedtostoreandfreezefoodproducts
by adults only and according to the instructions in this manual.
• Theappliancemustnotbeinstalledoutdoors,evenincovered
areas.It isextremely dangerousto leavethe appliance
exposedtorainandstorms.
• Donottouchtheappliancewithbarefeetorwithwetormoist
hands and feet.
• Donottouchtheinternalcoolingelements:thiscouldcause
skinabrasionsorfrost/freezerburns.
• Whenunpluggingtheappliancealwayspulltheplugfromthe
mainssocket,donotpullonthecable.
• Before cleaning and maintenance,always switch off the
applianceanddisconnectitfromtheelectricalsupply.Itisnot
sufficienttosetthetemperatureadjustmentknobsonON/OFF
(applianceoff)toeliminateallelectricalcontact.
• Inthecaseofamalfunction,undernocircumstancesshould
youattempttorepairtheapplianceyourself.Repairscarried
outby inexperienced persons may cause injury orfurther
malfunctioningoftheappliance.
• Donotuseanysharporpointedutensilsorelectricalequipment
-otherthanthetyperecommendedbythemanufacturer-inside
thefrozenfoodstoragecompartments.
• Donotputicecubestakendirectlyfromthefreezerintoyour
mouth.
• Thisapplianceisnotintendedforusebypersons(including
children)withreducedphysical,sensoryorlackofexperience
andknowledge unlessthey havebeen given supervision
orinstructionconcerninguseoftheappliancebyaperson
responsiblefortheirsafety.Childrenshouldbesupervisedto
ensurethattheydonotplaywiththeappliance.
• Keeppackagingmaterialoutofthereachofchildren!Itcan
become a choking or suffocation hazard.
Disposal
• Observe local environmental standards when disposing
packagingmaterialforrecyclingpurposes.

Respecting and conserving the

• Installtheapplianceinafreshandwell-ventilatedroom.Ensure
thatitisprotectedfromdirectsunlightanddonotplaceitnear
heat sources.
• Trytoavoidkeepingthedooropenforlongperiodsoropening
thedoortoofrequentlyinordertoconserveenergy.
• Do not fill the appliance withtoo muchfood: coldair must
circulatefreelyforfoodtobepreservedproperly.Ifcirculation
isimpeded,thecompressorwillworkcontinuously.
• Donotplacehotfooddirectlyintotherefrigerator.Theinternal
temperaturewillincreaseandforcethecompressortowork
harder and will consume more energy.
• Defrosttheapplianceificeforms(see Maintenance). A thick
layeroficemakescoldtransferencetofoodproductsmore
difficultandresultsinincreasedenergyconsumption.
Troubleshooting
Iftheappliancedoesnotwork,beforecallingforAssistance(see
Assistance),checkforasolutionfromthefollowinglist.
The display is completely switched off.
• Theplughasnotbeeninsertedintotheelectricalsocket,ornot
farenoughtomakecontact,orthereisnopowerinthehouse.
The motor does not start.
• Theappliancecomes witha motorprotection control (see
Start-up and use).
The display is on but it is dim.
• Pulloutandreversetheplugbeforeputtingitbackinthesocket.
The alarm sounds and DOOR OPEN ALARM flashes on the
display (“d” is displayed instead of the REFRIGERATOR
temperature).
• Therefrigeratordoorhasbeenopenformorethantwominutes.
Thesoundalertstopswhenthedoorisclosedorwhenthe
applianceisswitchedoffandonagain.
The alarm sounds and TEMPERATURE ALARM flashes
on the display (“A1” is displayed instead of the FREEZER
temperature).
• Thetemperatureinsidethefreezeristoohigh.Thefreezerwill
maintainatemperatureofaround0°Csothatthefoodwillnot
refreeze,allowingyoutoeatitwithin24hoursortorefreezeit
after it has been cooked.
Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor
orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons
once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset
valueonthefreezer display, switchofftheTEMPERATURE
ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.
The alarm sounds and temperature alarm flashes on
the display (“A2” is displayed instead of the FREEZER
temperature).
• Thetemperature ofthe freezer is dangerously high:the
food inside must not be eaten. The freezer will maintain a
temperatureofapproximately-18°C.
Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor
orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons
once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset
valueonthefreezer display, switchofftheTEMPERATURE
ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.
The refrigerator and the freezer do not cool well.
• Thedoorsdonotcloseproperlyorthesealsaredamaged.
• Thedoorsareopenedtoofrequently.
• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoohigh(see Start-up
and use).
• Therefrigeratororthefreezerhavebeenover-filled.
• Theatmospheric temperatureof the area surrounding the
applianceislowerthan14°C.
The food inside the refrigerator is beginning to freeze.
• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoolow(see Start-up and
use).
The motor runs continuously.
• TheSUPERFREEZEbuttonhasbeenpressed(rapidfreezing):
the yellow SUPER FREEZE light ison orflashing (see
Description).
• Thedoorisnotclosedproperlyoriscontinuouslyopened.
• Theoutsideambienttemperatureisveryhigh.
The appliance makes a lot of noise.
• Theappliancehasbeeninstalledbetweencabinetsthatvibrate
and make noise.
• Theinternalrefrigerantmakesaslightnoiseevenwhenthe
compressorisoff.Thisisnotadefect,itisnormal.
There is water at the bottom of the refrigerator.
