Before first use
Removeandsafelydiscardanypackagingmaterialand
promotionallabels.
Disassembletheblenderjugbyfollowingthestepsinthe
‘Disassemblingtheblender’sectionbelow.Washthelid,
innerlid,blenderjug,siliconseal,blenderjugbaseand
bladeassemblyinwarm,soapywaterwithasoftcloth.
Rinseanddrythoroughly.
Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth and dry
thoroughly.
Disassembling the blender
1. Placethemotorbaseonaat,drysurfacesuchas
abenchtop.Ensurethatthespeedselectiondialis
intheoff‘0’position,theapplianceisswitchedoffat
thepoweroutletandthepowercordisunplugged.
2. Remove the blender jug from the motor base by
holding the motor base rmly and grasping the
blender jug handle and pulling the blender jug up
andoffthemotorbase.

blenderjug.
4. Placethejugupsidedownonaat,drysurfacesuch
asabenchtop.
5. Holdthe jughandle andturn theblender jugbase
anti-clockwise to remove. Carefully lift the blade
assemblyoutofthenarrowendoftheblenderjug.
Removethesiliconsealfromoutsidethenarrowend
oftheblenderjug.

NEVER PLACE ANYTHING OTHER THAN FOOD AND LIQUIDS IN THE BLENDER WHILST THE MOTOR
IS RUNNING.
Using the blender
1. Ensure the speed selection dial is in the off ‘0’
position. Insert the power cord into a 230/240V
poweroutletandswitchonatthepoweroutlet.
2. Removethelidandaddfoodand/orliquidintothe
blenderjug.
3. Select the desired speed by turning the speed
selectiondialclockwisetoaspeedbetween1(low)
and5(high).Thespeedcanbechangedatanytime
duringtheblendingprocess.Turnthespeedselection
dialanti-clockwisetoselecttheICE(Pulse)setting.
Speed1-2(lowspeed)issuitableforsavourydipsand
thinbatters.
Speed 3-4 (medium speed) is suitable for sauces and
drinks.
Speed 5 (high speed) is suitable for smoothies and
cocktails.
ICE (Pulse) can be used for foods that require short
bursts of power to process such as herbs,nuts,small
vegetablesandice.WhenusingtheICE(Pulse)function,
holdtheblenderlidinplace.

Assembling and attaching the
blender jug
1. Placethemotorbaseonaat,drysurfacesuchas
abenchtop.Ensurethespeedselectiondialisinthe
off‘0’position,theapplianceisswitchedoffatthe
poweroutletandthepowercordisunplugged.
2. Place the blender jug upside down on a at, dry
surfacesuchasabenchtop.
3. Holdtheblenderjughandleandplacethesiliconseal
ontothenarrowendoftheblenderjugthencarefully
insertthebladeassembly.
4. Placetheblenderjugbaseoverthebladeassembly
andturnclockwisetosecureintoposition.
5. Turn the assembled blender jug upright and place
ontothemotorbase.
6. Insert the inner measuring cup into the lid, then
insertthelidrmlyintothetopoftheblenderjug.
NOTE
Ensure lid is placed onto blender jug firmly and the
inner measuring cup is in position before operating
the blender. Do not operate blender without the lid.
Additional ingredients can be added whilst blending
by removing the inner measuring cup and placing
or pouring ingredients through the middle opening
in the lid.
NOTE
Liquids should be placed into the blender jug before
solid ingredients, unless specified differently in a
recipe.
NOTE
All foods should be cut into cubes (approx. 2-3cm
square) to achieve an even result.
NOTE
When using the blender for the first time, you may
notice an odour coming from the motor. This is
normal and will dissipate with use.
NOTE
If any moisture or liquid appears on the motor base,
ensure the speed selection dial is in the off ‘0’
position, the appliance is switched off at the power
outlet and the power cord is unplugged, remove the
blender jug then wipe the spillage immediately with
paper towel and dry thoroughly. Ensure the blender
jug is correctly assembled before placing back onto
the motor body and operating.

4. Duringblendingprocess,someingredientsmaystick
tothesidesoftheblenderjug.Topushthefoodback
ontotheblades,turnthespeedselectiondialtothe
off‘0’ position and switch off at the power outlet.
Removethelidanduseaplasticspatulatoscrape
downthesides oftheblender jug.Replace the lid
beforerecommencingblending.
5. Attheendofuse,alwaysensurethespeedselection
dialisturnedtotheoff‘0’position.Thenswitchthe
appliance off at the power outlet and unplug the
powercord.
NOTE
Ensure the motor and blades have completely
stopped before attempting to move the appliance,
when not in use, if left unattended and before
disassembling, cleaning and storing.

Cleaning the blender jug, lid, inner

Washblenderjug,lid,innermeasuringcup,siliconseal,
blender jug base and blade assembly in warm soapy
water with a soft cloth. Use a kitchen bottle brush to
dislodgestubbornfood.Rinseanddrythoroughly.Donot
placethelid,innermeasuringcup,siliconseal,blender
jugorbladeassemblyintoadishwasher.
Cleaning the motor base
Wipe the motor base with asoft,damp cloth then dry
thoroughly. Wipe any excess food particles from the
powercord.
Removing stubborn or strong food
stains and odours
Strongsmellingfoodssuchasgarlicandshmayleave
an odour and some vegetables such as carrots may
leaveastainontheblenderjugandlid.Toremove,soak
blenderjugandlidfor5minutesinwarmsoapywater.
Thenwashwithamilddetergentandwarmwater,rinse
wellanddrythoroughly.
Storage
Store the blender upright with the blender jug, silicon
seal, blade assembly, blender jug base, lid and inner
measuring cup assembled and inserted on the motor
baseorbesideit.Donotplaceanythingontop.
THE BLENDING BLADES ARE EXTREMELY SHARP. AVOID ANY CONTACT WITH FINGERS AND HANDS.
USE CAUTION WHEN HANDLING AND STORING.
NOTE
The blender jug can be washed on a normal cycle in
a dishwasher. Remove the lid, inner lid, silicon seal,
blender jug base and blade assembly before placing
the blender jug upside down in the dishwasher for
better stability.
NOTE
Do not use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners
when cleaning the motor base as they may
scratch the surface.
NOTE
Do not expose the glass jug to sudden temperature
change.

Hints and Tips
• Do not put more than 2 cups of ingredients into
the blender before blending commences. After the
blendingprocesshasbegunandthebladesareturning
youmayslowlyaddanother1½ cupsof ingredients
throughtheinnermeasuringcupopeningifdesired.
• Do not blend a heavy mixture for more than 30
secondsatonetimewithoutswitchingofftheblender.
For normal blending tasks, such as mayonnaise,
dressings, etc., do not operate for longer than 1
minuteatonetimewithoutswitchingofftheblender,
stirringtheingredientsthencontinuingoperation.
• Donotplacehotorboilingfoodsand/orliquidsinto
the blender; allow to cool before placing into the
blenderjug.
• When using several ingredients, place liquid
ingredientsintheblenderjugrstunlessspeciedin
therecipetodootherwise.
• When blending thick or dry mixtures it may be
necessarytostop theblenderandscrapedownthe
sidesofthejug,onceortwice,duringblending.
• Theblenderwillnotkneaddoughormashpotatoes.
• The blender isnot designedto chop/mince meator
extractjuicefromfruitandvegetables.
• Thickmixturessuchaspatés,pureemoreefciently
whentheblenderjugis¼to½full.
• Donotusetheblendertostorefood.
• Do not overload the blender with more than the
specied quantity of ingredients as doing so could
causethemotortostall.Turntheblenderoffbyturning
thespeedselectiondialtotheoff‘0’position,switch
off at the power outlet and unplug the power cord.
Removeaportionofthemixturefromtheblenderjug
beforecontinuing.
• Donotoperatetheblenderwithouttheblenderlidin

Crush ice
Tocrushice,place1cupoficecubesintotheblender
jug.Replacethelidandturnthespeedselectiondialto
ICE(Pulse)forshortburstsuntiliceiscrushed.Thiswill
takeapproximately15seconds.Whencrushingice,hold
lidinplacetoavoiddisplacementduringoperation.
Bread crumbs
Removethecrustsfromthebreadandtearintopieces.
Processsufcientpiecesatatimetocovertheblades.
Upto5slicesatatimecanbecrumbed.Stalebreadwill
producethebestresults.
Chopped nuts
Process ¾ cup of nuts at a time. Use the ICE (Pulse)
settingasthiswillgivemoreevenchopping.
Drinks
Filltheblenderjugatleast¼fullandremembertoleave
roomtoallowfrothtoformasthedrinkisaerated.
Ground coffee
Coffee beans can be ground sufciently ne for a
percolator or for infusion, but not nely enough for
dripolatororespressomachines.Process½cupcoffee
beansatatime.
Soups, sauces, purees
Themost efcient amountto blendwilldepend onthe
food/recipe used. However, generally, the more liquid
used, the more can be processed at one time. Never
processboilingliquids or hotingredients,allow to cool
beforeplacingintotheblenderjug.

TOMATO SOUP
Serves 2-4
1 tablespoon oil
2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
1 brown onion, peeled and diced
2 x 410g cans diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1. Heatoilinalargesaucepan,addgarlicandonions,
cook over a medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until
onionissoft.
2. Combine tomatoes, tomato paste and brown sugar
and pour into pan with onion mixture, bring to the
boil,thenreduceheatandsimmeruncoveredfor20
minutesoruntilliquidhasreducedbyonethird.
3. Allowthemixturetocool.
4. Transfer mixture in three batches into blender jug,
selectspeed5andblenduntilsmooth.
Variations
TOMATO AND BASIL SOUP
Add ¼ cup of basil leaves to the blender jug when
pureeing.
TOMATO AND CHILLI SOUP
Add1teaspoonofchillipowderor½smallredchillito
theonionwhensauteing.
CREAMY TOMATO SOUP
Add¼cupofsourcreamtotheblenderwhenpureeing
thesoup.
PUMPKIN SOUP
Serves 2-4
2 tablespoons oil
1 brown onion, peeled and diced
2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
400g butternut pumpkin, peeled and diced
4 cups/1 litre chicken stock
1. Heat oil in a large saucepan, addonionand garlic,
sautéfor5minutes.
2. Addthepumpkintothepanandstirtocoatwiththe
onionmix,then addthestock,bringthemixture to
theboil.
3. Reducetoasimmerfor20minutes,cookwiththelid
onuntilthepumpkiniscooked.
4. Allow the mix to cool, transfer mixture in three
batchesintoblender jug,select speed5 and blend
untilsmooth.
5. Return the mix to the saucepan to heat through,
adjusttheseasoningbeforeserving.
Variations
MOROCCAN PUMPKIN SOUP
Add the following spices to the onion when sautéing.
Servewithcorianderleavesandyoghurt.
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon garam marsala
1 teaspoons paprika
½ teaspoon ground white pepper
CURRIED PUMPKIN SOUP
Add 1 tablespoon curry powder to the onions when
sauteing.
CREAMY PUMPKIN SOUP
Add½cupcreamwhenaddingthestock.
THAI STYLE PUMPKIN SOUP
Add 2 small fresh red chillies and 1 tablespoon chopped
lemon grass to the onion mixture. Add ½ cup/125ml
coconut milk before pureeing the mix.

1 teaspoon French mustard
1 tablespoon Raspberry vinegar
¾ cup grapeseed oil
¾ cup peanut oil

1. Add the milk, eggs, our, salt, essence, eggs and
buttertotheblenderjug,mixonspeed2withthelid
rmlyheldinposition,mixtoformasmoothbatter.
2. Lightly grease a small crêpe pan. Heat pan over a
moderateheat.
3. Pour ¼ cup batter into the pan, swirl mixture to
spreadevenlyoverthepan.
4. Cookovermediumheatuntilgoldenbrown.
5. Turncrêpeoverandcookfor30secondslonger.

RASPBERRY SAUCE
Makes approx. 1¼ cups
250g fresh or frozen raspberries
¼ cup icing sugar
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier or orange liqueur
2 tablespoons water
1. Place raspberries, icing sugar, Grand Marnier and
waterintotheblenderjug,selectspeed3andblend
untilsmooth.

1 cup white sugar
1 cup/250mlwater
1. Placesugarandwaterintoasaucepanandbringto

2. Place the warm sugar syrup (also called cocktail
syrup)into asterilizedscrew-topjarandrefrigerate
untilrequired.This syrupis usedto sweetendrinks
andprovidesaliquidtoassistblending.
MARGARITA

¼ cup/60ml Tequila
¼ cup/60ml Cointreau
1 cup/250ml lime juice
12 ice cubes
Lime slices for serving
1. PlaceTequila,Cointreau,limejuiceandicecubesinto
the blender jug, select speeds 4-5 and blend until
wellcombinedandiceiscrushed.
