#1 What are the decibel levels?

Danby portable air conditioners have a sound rating from 38 decibels to 56 decibels. The exact decibel range is determined by the model of the unit and the mode (fan, cool or heat if available with the model). Danby also has a patented Silencer Technology available on several models that will keep your home cool and comfortable while operating at a 46 decibel to 49 decibel range.

#2 What does automatic mode mean?

When selected, this automatically sets the appropriate option for
your room based on the ambient temperature. For example, if it is
15°C outside, the unit would flip to fan mode. If it is set to 30°C, the
unit would revert back to cooling mode.

#3 What are the differences between the dual hose model and the
single hose?

Dual hose models have an intake and exhaust hose. With single
hose models, the hose exhausts and the air that is to be
“conditioned” is taken in from the room through the unit.

#4 Where do I drain the water from?

The water drains from the drainage port. If you are not using the
continuous drain, the internal pan drains from the bottom outlet.
Consult your owner’s manual for more information

#5 When do I use the drain hose?

During heat mode, dry mode or continuous draining. Please consult
your owner’s manuals for more details.

#6 Why does the pan fill up so quickly when I have it on heat mode? Is
this normal?

On most models with heat mode, it is advised to use the hose for
direct drain. This will ensure the pan does not fill up too quickly.

#7 Why does my unit have three draining ports?

Units with three drainage ports are units which also feature heat
mode. The bottom drainage port empties the internal pan, the
middle port is for continuous drain during heat and the top port is
for continuous drain during dry mode. Please consult your owner’s
manual for more detail.

#8 When do I use the air exhaust hose?

You should always use it during cooling and heating. In most
models it should be removed while using fan and dry mode as it
is not required. Please consult your owner’s manuals for more
details.

#9 Why is my air conditioner not cooling my entire apartment?

Danby air conditioners are designed to cool a single room and not
multiple rooms. Any walls or doors will interfere with the air flow.

#10 What is an Ionizer?

The ionizer feature safely creates a localized charge to collect more
particulates from the air
