Problem Possible causes and solutions
Cannot connect to the Internet. Is the LAN cable connected properly?
Is the wrong cable such as a modular cable used? Connect a LAN cable to the
ETHERNET terminal. (Page 32)
Is the power for the connected equipment, such as broadband router or modem
turned on?
Is the broadband router and/or modem properly connected?
Is the proper value(s) set in the network setting? Check “Communication Setup”.

Cannot download BD-LIVE contents. Is the LAN cable connected properly?
Is the USB memory device properly connected? Check that the USB memory
device is connected to the USB1 or USB2 termial on this system.
Check if the BD disc supports BD-LIVE.

AQUOS LINK

AQUOS LINK function does not work
properly.
Is the HDMI cable properly connected? Connect the HDMI cable correctly and then
perform the reset procedure. (Page 83)
Try switching the input manually to check whether video from the system is
reproduced.
AQUOS TV remote control does not
operate this system.
Is the AQUOS TV remote control being pointed at the AQUOS TV?
Is the AQUOS TV set to “By AQUOS AUDIO SP” mode? (Page 44)
Is an HDMI CEC-enabled component being used?
Check whether the batteries of the AQUOS TV remote control are still good.
Cannot reproduce sound from
AQUOS TV with this system.
Are the AQUOS TV audio output and the DIGITAL AUDIO IN (OPTICAL) terminal on
this system connected correctly via optical digital cable? (Page 24)
Is the AQUOS TV set to “By AQUOS AUDIO SP” mode? (Page 44)
No sound or picture. Is HDMI compliant equipment being used?
Is the HDMI cable connected correctly? Connect the HDMI cable correctly and then
perform the reset procedure. (Page 83)
Do not connect or disconnect an HDMI cable while power is on. This may lead to
operation problems and can cause the picture to disappear.
Power turns off suddenly. Is the HDMI cable connected correctly? Connect the HDMI cable correctly and then
perform the reset procedure. (Page 83)
Switching on this system does not
turn on AQUOS TV.
Try setting this system to the playback condition. When playback is activated, power
to AQUOS TV should come on.
During playback of video media,
there is a time lag (lip sync error)
between the image on the AQUOS
TV and the sound from this system.
Try setting the audio delay function. (Page 63) This will delay the sound reproduced
by this system, which serves to reduce the lip sync error.

Problem Possible causes and solutions
The TV operates incorrectly. Some TVs with wireless remote control capability may operate incorrectly when
using the remote control of this system. Use such TVs away from the main unit.
The system heats up during use. When using this system, the console cabinet may heat up depending on the usage
environment. This is not a malfunction.
STANDBY indicator will remain lit. When the AC cord is removed from the outlet, the STANDBY indicator will remain lit
for a short period. This is normal and is not a malfunction.
When a button is pressed, the
system does not respond.
Set this system to the stand-by mode and then turn it back on. If the problem still
exists, reset it. (Page 83)
The preset channel cannot be
recalled.
Did you remove the plug from the AC outlet, or did a power failure occur? Preset the
channel again.
The settings have been erased. If this system is unplugged (or there is a power failure) for more than about 1 hour
while its power is on, the settings will be lost. Make sure that you turn off this system
before unplugging the power cord.
When there is a power interruption or the power cord is unplugged from the AC
outlet with the power on, all settings return to the factory preset values.
