Vacmaster VWM510 Questions and Answers

#1 Is it possible to mount some wheels fron Home Depot on the bottom? Either by drilling holes or some other method?

The canister for this unit is very well constructed and very thick. I can see that drilling holes and bolting on some wheels would be easy. but, vac master does make a unit with wheels.

#2 Does this vacuum rely on airflow from the hose for cooling? Or is the cooling of the motor independent from the airflow through the hose?

The suction hose goes to the canister not through the motor so I guess it does not cool the motor.

#3 Can this be used to vacuum ashes?

You can. Make absolutely sure there are no embers. I would put the vacuum outside. I would not want to put the ash dust in the air in the house if the fit on the filter is not perfect. The hose length should make that doable.

#4 Can this be wall mounted in garage but also be used in the backyard from time to time?

Yes. We have ours mounted on the wall and remove it from time to time to use elsewhere. Just press in one clip and lift it off the mounting bracket. Just make sure the cord is not wrapped thru the lip that goes onto the mounting bracket when hanging it back up.

#5 Can u buy a longer hose?

You may be able to put 2 together. See what’s available at Home Depot

#6 Since this has no disposal bag how well will it work for cleaning out the remnants of ash from a wood or pellet stove?

lol don't put a trash bag inside the vacuum. It's a vacuum... It'll try to suck the bag through the filter like everything else. The bag is air tight so no air flow. No air flow means no suction and a burnt out motor.

#7 Would you recommend this for blowing yard leaves?

Not sure how much it blows. Never really used it for that But it surely does suck. I really like this machine. Very well made, wall mountable and well priced here. If you compare the price with the one available at Sears you will see it's virtually the same machine
