The drain hose is 39 inches. And the water approximately 42 inches. In order to drain into the sink it has to be at least 39 inches from the bottom of the washer to the sink. I bought the wheel base with the washer so mine goes into the sink it self. Word of advice make that drain hose is secure to something inside the sink. I got bailing wire and attached it to the washer hose at the faucet. The first time I ran it the drain hose fell out the sink and I had the whole mess on my kitchen floor.

I use approximately 7 lbs of dry loads per wash. I usually wash about 3 loads every other day. I am loving my compact Magic Chef washer. Would happily recommend it for small families with limited space. I also have the accompanying dryer. It great!
