FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1) Why does my filter have moisture inside?
The filter is packaged after rinsing to keep it from drying out which can shorten the life of the filter.
2) How often do I change filters?
Please refer to the “WHEN TO CHANGE FILTERS” section of this manual.
3) How much water can I filter at a time?
The basin holds 4 cups (1 quart) at a time and can be filled twice to fill to the pitchers 8 cup(2 quart) capacity.
4) Why does my water taste acidic or fishy?
This means the filter has reached the end of it’s life and should be replaced. Other reasons this can happen are from using hot water or letting the
filter dry out for a long period of time. This will shorten the filter life.
5) Why did my filter not last very long?
For high (TDS 400+) areas this can happen rather quickly and it probably not a good fit for this type of filtration. Other reasons this can happen are
from using hot water or letting the filter dry out for a long period of time.
6) Will this remove bacteria and viruses from the water?
No, please make sure the water is properly disinfected and safe to drink before filtration.
7) Can I use water from a well or other sources?
Our system is designed to be used with tap water only. If the input water TDS is high the filter life will be short.
8) What contaminants will this pitcher remove?
Our filtration technology uses a combination of activated carbon fiber and an ion exchange. Our ion exchange array reduces water hardness and will remove
all inorganic particles from the water. Some examples of common inorganic contaminants that are removed are fluoride, chromium, lead, arsenic, cadmium, copper,
mercury, and iron. This is not a comprehensive list and the filter will remove many other inorganic contaminants from the water.
9) Is drinking water with no salt or minerals bad for you?
In a well balanced diet, minerals should be derived from the foods you eat. If salt or mineral intake is a concern we recommend adding a pinch of
natural salt to your water before drinking.
10) Is the pitcher dishwasher safe?
No, we recommend hand washing only.
11) Can I use hot or boiling water?
Please use cool or room temperature water only. Hot water will damage the filter.
